Arrived in the city very early so popped to the hotel to drop off my bag. They happily obliged and I checked my reservation which they confirmed. I couldn’t get in the room until 3pm which I understood and had a day sightseeing planned anyway.
I returned at just before 3pm and just checked to see if I can now get into the room ( I was prepared to wait and have a drink) , there was some nervous chat and hasty typing on the computer as it appeared there was no rooms ( travelling nightmare). Now to their credit they said it’s ok and there was a lot of German chat before saying they will upgrade me to a larger room which was a relief, however with the maintenance visibly going on in the hotel I couldn’t use the water or loo until 5pm.
I wasn’t that bothered as I was hoping to have a quick nap before venturing out again later, but wasn’t the experience I was expecting. I had the sleep , checked at 5pm and all was ok to go.
I can’t fault the staff or the rest of my stay in a very qwerky pleasant, convenient hotel. I was just alarmed that what would have happened if there really was no room even though I had a confirmation of a booking.
The bar was lovely and had a great atmosphere,
Breakfast was a buffet and was excellent.
Room was clean and spacious,
The cleaners kept trying to come in but I should have left a thing on the door so my bad.
I’d stay again but would probably ring ahead to check all was ok, but I shouldn’t have too.
I would regardless of this recommend it.
