Bathroom was not very clean when I got there. Asked for them to send up tissues and other toiletries that normally come with the room. They did after my 3rd request. Had to iron a white button down and the blue ironing bored turned my shirt blue. (was comped for the dry cleaning). Would not stay here by choice.

Our stay was very comfortable and check in was quick and easy, even with our bicycles. Only complaint is an unexpected “site fee” of $11 and the incidental deposit of $100. The latter will presumably be returned in a few days, but these dampened my enthusiasm of a very well-kept and efficient operation.

The carpet in the room was grubby, and it was clear that they hadn't actually checked the linens in a while. There was what looked like ketchup (I hope it was ketchup) on the bed skirt, and when I looked under the bed topper it looked like there was more ketchup stain on the blanket, too. There was no fan in the bathroom, so the room got a bit dank, but it wasn't bad. The first morning I showered and the water temperature was fine, but the next day the warm water cut out after about 5 minutes and didn't come back while I was showering. The room lock was glitchy, and would sometimes work, and sometimes not. Even after I asked them to remagnetize the key, and then got a different key, it still didn't work well, and sometimes I would have to swipe 15-20 times before it would unlock. For $200 /night, I expected more. The location was good, and the bed was comfortable. It was convenient to the convention center and the French quarter. Given the condition of the hotel room and the price, I would not choose to stay here again.

This property is very dated and smelled of mildew. Smoking was being permitted in the lobby (cigars) and our whole floor smelt of cigarette smoke. Elevators are slow. Stairs will not let you out on the bottom floor and other set of stairs is filled with chairs and junk. Not safe in case of fire.

Staying on the Blake was a mixed bag. Check-in was very easy and the staff very pleasant. The location was central and convenient. However, the facilities are dated. The refrigerator door in one of the rooms did not work, the shower was missing a handle and when housekeeping tidied the rooms, no new towels were left. The elevator situation is also lacking. There were just so many people using them that it took forever to get up and down from the higher level floors.

Staff are friendly. Did not have hot water. Contacted the front desk and was told that the pipes are old and to run the water for 20 minutes to get hot water. Water never did get hot, just warm enough to wash comfortably. Did talk to others and they did not have the same problem.

can’t check in early at all , room had no hot water had to take a cold 3 sec shower, put a $100 hold on my card for $50 valet parking and got the car back with a parking violation ticket and hotel claims they have no idea definitely wouldn’t recommend if you don’t want to have a stressful stay

Not a nice place.
First thing I noticed when entering the room was the toilet with continuous water running, so had to fix that myself, handle was about ready to fall off too. There was hair on the bathroom floor, marks on the wall, shower was luke warm at best, hardly any pressure - the box containing the refrigerator was about to fall apart, with visible rotted wood towards the bottom., the curtain track was bent, so closing them was not easy, and wouldn’t close fully. Bathroom floor had water standing by the toilet from condensation, no vent fan, also the bathroom door wouldn’t close fully.

False advertising
Falsely advertised parking availabile, not without paying over $50 per day. Stayed 4 days and never had a single washcloth, No dresser to put clothes in, had to live out of a suitcase. Said there were laundry facilities, nope. Had to go to a laundromat. The only good thing was the desk people were great.

Heat/Power Issues
We checked in on a Friday and found out that the heat in our room wasn’t working. We notified the front desk and they ended up bringing three space heaters to the room. We couldn’t move any night because they were full. On that Saturday, we were out for majority of the day and I had been in contact with the hotel staff regarding the issue. We got back to the room, plugged in two of the heaters which then tripped the power in our room twice. We were told to use 1 heater instead of two. Upon checkout, the very nice gentleman asked about our stay which we gave him the rundown of everything that went on. He apologized but was rudely interrupted by “Taylor”, who happened to be the individual that I was talking to via text yesterday regarding our stay. Her response was “why didn’t you guys move?” First of all, we weren’t there when we had texted earlier that day and secondly once I told her about the power issue, she never responded. She wanted to make sure that she let it be known that she did everything to make us comfortable but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. She was very rude! The hotel is in a great location but I probably will never book there again.

An average stay
The stay overall was average. Our heat wasn’t working the entire stay. I called down to the front desk but was told to give it time. The hot water pressure was very weak and the maintenance personnel had to try to fix it. It wasn’t much an improvement. The QR code displayed in the room would not work.
