However, the place needs a really good clean - staircase carpets filthy, laundry lying around, corridor cluttered. Only 1 staff at breakfast - supplies lacking and empty. Cooked breakfast good though."

"Really nice stay but shine was taken off by one of staff being quite confrontational. Lovely welcome and check-in spoiled by an older lady I believe called Nicola (that’s what came up on the digital till when I purchased a drink later in the evening) who involved herself unnecessarily in the check-in process. "Pub was great, food was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room, Senna Cove was very comfortable, shower fantastic and bed really comfy. The photo on the website is possibly a wee bit out of date. Pub really welcomes dogs, ours was very well catered for and loved his sausages for breakfast. Pub would benefit from having a bin for used poo bags. There are none around. Overall a great experience and we would definitely return "

"A picturesque inn, in a beautiful area. Staff made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped through the door. Throughout our stay, everyone was so helpful and friendly. Clean and tidy room with spacious bathroom. Meals were excellent. Chefs are first class and every meal cooked to perfection. Quality food. A hearty breakfast provided a great start to our days. Even the dog got a sausage. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the Bay Horse Inn. "

"The Bowes Hotel is a lovely hotel and pub in a small village near Hadrian's Wall. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, fresh, and renovated within last 5 years. My friend stated if she could pack the bathroom in her suitcase and take it home she would! And, we had a lovely view of their garden. Would definitely stay there again. "
