Palermo cathedral is beautiful. Food and drink was reasonably priced & delicious! We traveled by train to Monreale, the cathedral is a must see. Cefalu is easy to reach by train from Palermo & is very picturesque, well worth visiting.

Palermo is a bit tired and run down. Poverty is evident in beggars and empty buildings. Food is plentiful and comparatively cheap compared to Europe. I wouldnt necessarily visit Palermo again but the landscape outside the city is lovely.
