"Beautiful setting in a limestone gorge with a river flowing through it. Better than a white noise machine! There are hiking and mountaineering trails in the immediate vicinity. As a vegan, I appreciated that they included both a vegan and vegetarian option on the dinner menu. The thermal pools and the baths (balneario) were lovely. Don’t forget your bathing cap! "

"We ended up with an 80 Euro parking fine because the staff didn't have enough sense to tell us how the parking lot in back of the hotel worked (what the rules were). For the sake of having parked 12 minutes "early" before 6 PM on Friday night, we ended up with an 80 Euro fine even though we moved our car by 9 AM and leave on Saturday, as we were instructed to do. Hotels should either provide guest parking, or else clearly instruct guests as to the necessary procedures."

"Stopped for two nights with my husband on a motorbike trip to the Picos. We loved staying here. We had a beautiful balcony view looking out on to farm land and mountains and could hear the birds singing. So tranquil. Loved all the geranium window boxes. So pretty. "Great location with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants in walking distance, and only a short drive to the Cares Gorge trailhead. Toilet needs a deep clean, it was superficially clean but there was a strong smell of urine present. Breakfast was good, and the staff serving were friendly and efficient……but you have to book a half hour slot….and that’s your lot! No chance of a slow relaxing morning coffee."

"Great location, and the staff were polite, attentive and competent. Low score is because the room could do with refurbishing, was cramped and most importantly, the bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress sagged in the middle. My wife woke up with a sore back. To top it all, no Wi-Fi again, a recurring problem as we travel around Northern Spain."

"Our host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The old-style room was big enough and had a view up to the basilica. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Parking just out front. The reception area was down and around a path to the rear of the building. There is a footpath behind the property which takes you up to the magnificent basilica and awesome cave chapel and it was a short drive to take the shuttle bus up to Los Lagos. "

The location is good, close to free parking and easy to walk to restaurants and bars in town.
