Your feedback has been passed on to the owner of the unit and we are discussing possible upgrades to the apartment.We generally take full payment 30 days prior to arrival, not 6 months, so this may be an issue with hotels.com. I am sorry that you found the apartment to be tired and dates, but glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall and the location of Mandalay. Dear Stefanus,Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed our beachfront location and lovely swimming pools, and found the apartment to be clean during your 2-night stay. I am sorry to hear that you felt that the air conditioner vents were not up to a satisfactory standard of cleanliness. They are dusted by our housekeepers every time the apartment is cleaned, and they get a thorough clean once per month. Because of this, we never have issues with dust building up or vents becoming mouldy. I did check the vents in the apartment today upon seeing your review, and they are very clean. Therefore, I would be extremely surprised if your allergies were due to dust on the vents. You stayed with us at the start of October, ie. The start of the allergy season, and many people were complaining of hay fever symptoms that week. This may well have been the cause of your allergy symptoms since even if you don’t suffer from hay fever at home, it can be different in new locations with different flora. I do hope that this did not impact your stay too much, and that you managed to enjoy your time in Port Douglas.Kind regards,Kerry

Hi Robyn Thank you for your feedback and great rating. We are so fortunate the local council offer a recycling program at the transfer station and loose items are sorted there. Each time we have tried to have different bins, everyone puts the wrong items in the wrong bins and our poor staff spend half their day sorting through rubbish. So via the transfer station, the majority of recyclable items get to the right place. We hope to see you again for another fantastic holiday in Port Douglas.
