We were so happy with Hotel La Posada and Jungle. We were surprised to find it right next to the gates of Manuel Antonio. The location was great with just enough around to make things convenient, but not so much that it was bustling (aside from daytime park crowds of course). All the staff were wonderful and friendly, with a special mention of Rony, who was simply the best. My kids both loved him. My 12 year old son Oliver said "I've never even thought about having a favourite hotel worker until I met Rony." We had a great time and recommend it highly.

Loved staying right next to the park and the entrance gate. Monkeys indeed visited the trees around the hotel and the roof each morning. Ronny and the rest of the staff were super friendly, helpful and fun.

We liked this hotel but it is a "get what you pay for" type of situation. The location is great - right next to the park and close to all the action. They really didn't have a place for us to park other than in a busy alley. We had a rental car so it wasn't of big concern to us but if you had a nice car it would be very worrisome. Our car did get backed into while it was parked and it left a pretty big dent but the guy at Posada was VERY helpful getting us in touch with our rental car company and all. The hotel is in a neat location -lots of howler monkey noises in the evening and morning which we really thought was neat! It is just sort of an older hotel - very clean but the furniture is old and things are very dated. Not for people that like a fancy, modern room but great location for easy going travelers. There was a family staying there with 5 kids and they were having the time of their lives!

This property is right next to the entrance to the Manuel Antonio Park so if you plan to go to the park, it is perfect. The rooms are not fancy but clean.

This property was in an excellent location, a minute walk away from the entrance to Manuel Antonio NP and within 5 minutes of multiple restaurants. About 7 minutes away was the beach and more restaurants. Our room was clean with plenty of space. The property is also right next to an area with lots of wildlife including white faced monkeys, and one can see various types of colorful birds and the occasional small iguana on the property. Staff were helpful and breakfasts were delicious.

This hotel is conveniently located next to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The staff was very helpful, friendly especially Rony and Eric. They also provided us towels when we went to the beach.

Steps away from the best park we visited in CR
We ended our Costa Rica adventure at Hotel La Posada and Jungle. My famly of 4 (11,13,44,45) stayed here in early April of 2023. This was a perfect way for us to end our 10 day tour of Costa Rica. We stayed in the Ara Macao house and it was awesome! My girls and wife loved it. Super spacious and comfortable. It had a full kitchen and large sitting area along with 2 bedrooms. The air conditioning was strong and the fans spread around the house kept the space cool and comfortable. The property has a small pool that was perfect for our two girls. My wife and I would sit and cool off in the evening while visiting with other guests. Breakfast was included and a perfect way to start the day. You choose from 4 options. We tried them all and they were good. The best part about this hotel is the location. It is literally steps away from the entrance to Manuel Antonio park. It is very convenient. The beach is only a short walk away through some nice vendors and we even came across a family of monkeys on our way to the beach. Parking can be a little tricky. Just follow your "WAZE" directions and you will end up at a dead end. From there, communicate with one of the great hosts. Rony and Aaron Perez were very helpful. They helped find a parking spot close. They also offered to help with park tickets and dinner recommendations. Lots of shops within walking distance. A grocery store right next door. It is really a great location. Make sure to say hi to Mario the resident iguana.

The hotel is right next to the national park ( animals come to the property) and with short walking distance to the beach. The staff are lovely. We had a parking issue and staff handled this really well. Hot showers, good breakfast, small but nice pool area.

We appreciate for your review.Two important points based in your observations.If you see the hotel descrition, its very clear that we dont have parking, but we are pleased to always help our guests to park without cost and safe.Second, well, what you expected if you choose the closest hotel to the Manuel Antonio National Park, why dont mention about the 10 meters PArk distance, or the 4 minutes walking distance to the main beach or the lovely rooms that we offer, or the exhuberant pool area, practically inside the Park, or the Great service and Food that we offer?I can suggest many quiet places in the area but 30 or 40 minutes by car to the beach and Park. So please guests make sure you know where we are and what we offer, in this way we will avoid comments or low reviews without sense.Best regards.

Manuel Antonio National Park is right next to the hotel. It is extremely convenient. The staff are always available and ready to help with anything at all. The rooms are large and comfortable and the garden is beautiful. Monkeys come by to play in the garden almost every morning. So cute!

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. The monkeys run on the roof at night and I can be loud but the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s a very short walk to a beautiful beach. The water was so warm with nice waves to body surf. Parking is not the best, down a rock road, but it’s doable. You are literally on the edge of Manuel Antonio park, right before the entrance. Great location.

We stayed here for two nights. We have five young kids, and this hotel was wonderful. Nice boutique hotel next to the entrance of the national park. Wonderful breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Only eight rooms in the hotel, so it is easy to meet and interact with other guests. Our kids LOVED the monkeys that come to visit! The rooms are good size, with a nice bathroom. Short walk to an amazing beach.

I just got back from my first trip to Costa Rica and had a WONDERFUL week staying at La Posada. Perfect room (large, clean, personal hammock!), perfect location (steps from Manuel Antonio gate, lots of shops and restaurants within steps), perfect property (I saw almost as many animals on the property as in the park) and perfect staff-- Damien, Romy and team were SO welcoming and wonderful. Thank you for the dream vacation!

My family stayed at La Posada for 3 nights at the end of December. We booked a room with two double beds and it was exactly as pictured. Very happy with the room and the hotel. Best part of the property was Rony, who runs the front desk and can help with any tour or recommendations.

Convenient Location, but otherwise overpriced
We stayed here (family of 4) for three nights. The location is really convenient, right outside the gate of Manuel Antonio National Park, and 3 minutes walk from the public beach and a bunch of restaurants. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Included breakfast was quite decent. The rooms (and overall property) was clean, but basic and small in size, felt cramped. Overall, nothing wrong with this hotel, we had a good stay. But this is squarely a 2-star property, so go with that expectation. And for that, it was overpriced. Maybe it was the high tourist season. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if the price was half. For what they charged, I'd look for a different hotel, there are plenty in that area.

The hotel is right next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, so it was quite convenient, especially with two small kids. It was an easy day to the beach and we appreciated not having to get a car or taxi back to a hotel that was farther away. The hotel itself is just ok and we were a little disappointed based on what we paid for it. The room was fine but there was visible mold in a few spots, and in general the outside areas weren’t super nice (although the kids did appreciate the pool). Breakfast was just OK compared to other places. Staff was very helpful and in particular with Costa Rican friendliness. Would I come back? I’d probably try something different. The proximity to the park was nice but I think I would have opted for a nicer place and just gotten a ride to the park.

This place is very well located. It is very close to the entrance to the park but within easy walking distance of a lovely beach and the fun center of Manuel Antonio. It is also reasonably priced and not a high rise resort. It has local charm but is also very comfortable. It is my very favorite place to stay in Manuel Antonio. It is our second time here.

Sometimes I dont understand the guests. Mrs Marta, you stayed one week with us, all requests that you did we solved, I feel that we did all best to make your stay the best. Few things: Dining tables dirty, possible yes, we are in the middle of the forest, leaves, and dust falls every day, but Thank God we are here, to help you to clean the tables when you need it, also we clean it frequently but I cant have a person exclusively in the pool area cleaning it everytime get dusted. Any screen door have lock, this is why we have a glass door with a great lock to be used anytime you need it. Did you requested the safe? Because we have it upon request, actually we put it one, why you didnt mentioned it? Glad that you asked for the hangers, I was afraid that this ruined your completely stay... Believe me, we cant control the taxi service fees. I feel you are trying to say it was our fault :( Glad you enjoyed your breakfast... Very disapointed with your 1, we solved all your requests. Any way, have a wonderdul day.

This property is right next to the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park which made it convenient and easy to enter; however, because our room was right next this busy street, it was very noisy first thing in the morning (6 a.m.) and throughout the day until the park closed. We stayed in the villa that can accommodate 5 people for two nights. The place is dated and did not feel/look clean. It had a full kitchen allowing us to eat in for a couple of meals. Our last night there, we had someone brake into our place entering through a side window. When we talked to the owner of the hotel afterwards, he did not believe us when we told him he must have come through the window and even questioned our story of what happened. He said it was not possible and yet when we chased the person out of our room and down the stairs, he escaped with our money and electronic items through an opened window. Our door was still locked when we checked to see if that was how he entered. Upon checking further and wondering what happened, we noticed that someone had been in our room earlier in the day. They had brought new towels, made a bed, and emptied trash downstairs but not upstairs. When we questioned the front desk, they said that they don't do cleaning service. I don't trust this place and was unhappy with how they handled a very upsetting situation. It was an awful and scary way to end a wonderful stay in beautiful Costa Rica.

We appreciate your comment, you forgot mention several points in your "case" You didnt mentioned that when I went to check The window that you mentioned was by the "person came tru" it was without any damage, and the only way to open it was from inside, as I showed, seems you forgot this. I watch lost: You mentioned that was “stolen” but when you used the Find my… in your iphone, the watch was located by the National Park limit, we looked the phone that was there, even the phone was able to find it by bluethoot, but nothing, so weid that we looked for that watch, but the day after everybody has his watch in their hands during breakfast. GoPro Camera lost, you showed me that the Go Pro case was on the floor, but why if someone stole that didn’t toked the rest of the accessories? Just the Camera even without charger and nothing else. So weird, no? Peanut butter and bread stolen: Hard to believe that “someone came inside the room” to take your peanut butter and bread and eat it, even with your son in the living room sleeping. Peanut butter, seriously? Your wife screamed when saw the person in your room: But, when I asked your son if he heard you, he said yes, even he woke up, but, guess what, when I asked him if he saw anybody coming down the stairs he said no!!! So, what happened with the person? First you said someone came on the night and stole your stuff, then you said that the maid did!! I am sorry, but there was many discrepancies in your arguments, and we reject your accusations, sadly we cant claim for this type of reviews that just screw our hard work. By the way, the Security cameras and even the Guard in the front and back property didn’t saw any person during the time that this “happened”. Even your wife screaming was unable to hear it, and for sure, for the room location, will be very easy to hear. We work so hard to make all perfect for our guests, we dont want this type of "situations" specially when is not true.

Still recommended but the overall vibe changed
It's our 3rd time in Costa Rica and every time we've visited Manuel Antonio...and we like to stay here. However, this time, the overall feel of the hotel has changed. It used to be more family, and vibrant; There is much less of that because there is no staff working at the hotel. The staff work as tour guides and are more busy with that than the hotel part. The parking has always been tight because the hotel is right by the gate of the park, but since owners have added a ticket & guide booth on the parking spots, it is now a crazy nightmare to park. The room was okay but could be improved too. We were missing a sheet on one of the beds, and upon noticing in the evening, there was no staff to help us out. The next morning, there was no breakfast and we later learned that the cook did not show up (in the mean time, the ticket/guide staff was stressed out by the questions I was asking). The next 2 days of our stay, we did get the missing sheet, and had breakfast, which was expensive for the small plate of food. Back to the room, we were in Casa 10 "The Monkey" and it had no natural light coming in, having no idea what the weather was like. The beds and pillows were good and comfortable. There was a fridge and closet. he bathroom was a pity, with a shower door that did not close, or open. The sink fixture was poor too. A few towels were new, but others were old. We donated our purchased bodyboards to the hotel, for next visitors to enjoy. Still recommend this place!

We would stay here again. Easy access to Manuel Antonio and beach. Once we got to hotel and parked, we didn't need to use the rental car until we left. The small street that the hotel is on is busy with medium size tour vans and other vehicles so be patient. The internet use was mainly for booking other trips and checking emails. Not sure If wifi is good for videos or heavy usage. The staff was great and the people are great. Had a great time. Pura Vida!

Nice Hotel. Great location
Nice hotel. Next to the National Park. The staff is helpful & accommodating. Highly recommend. Short walk to the public beach, restaurants & small supermarkets.

The location is great, next to Manuel Antonio National Park and beaches. The rooms were horrible, the picture of the pool is a misrepresentation. It's hardly a pool. The rooms are dated, and the room which was provided right outside the pool, with lot of guest noise. No amenities in the room, like lotion or a basic phone to reach front desk. Anything you wanted, you had to step to the front desk. The shower curtain/rod was broken, no bathroom latch. The front desk agent was busy in selling you other services on which they were typically offered great commission. Parasailing was offered at $95 pp, but if you stepped to the beach, you could get it for $60pp. we were routed to breakfast at a joint in which they were getting commissions too. Overall a place which could easily be avoided.

Reading this review I confirm tha this guest confuses his destination, shoud stay in a 4 or 5 star resort with all the amenities that he was looking. Specially room phone...... Please next time let us know at the time to make sure we can know about your concerns and be able to solve everything (except the room phone...) Did you know your breakfast was not included according the rate, for that reason we suggest to our guests different places to enjoy a great food, and believe me, we dont get commission for this, its a pleasure guide our guests. By the way, we also sell the tours according the tour companies rates (as in any place in the world), if you found another option, good for you! Future guests please make sure read all the reviews and make sure WE ARE NOT A LUXURY HOTEL, we are a family hotel with the main target is offer you a great experience surounded of nature and great service.
