It was my very first time booking with Expedia and also visiting Finland . The transaction were smooth . I must say the breakfast at the hotel was amazing highly recommend the mushrooms and potatoes and pancakes . My friend and I came down 5min before breakfast hours ended and the chef had no issue whipping us up a hot meal , Clean comfortable room/ beds ; only thing I wished the room had a microwave as the portions at the nearby restaurants are pretty large and we would often retire with a takeaway box . Apart from that I highly recommend Arctic Light Hotel

Absolutely nothing we can fault about this property. The staff is what makes this hotel special. Max at reception is exceptional and an asset to this business. He was a standout and genuinely wants to assist and provide anything you may require. Memorable stay.

Be sure to reserve the sauna!
We arrived at the hotel on the bus directly from the train station and thought we'd be dropping our luggage and finding things to do until check-in time. Much to our surprise our room was ready and we were able to check in and get cleaned up before roaming around Rovaniemi and making it to our late lunch reservation in the town center. I sent the hotel a note a few days before arrival to reserve the sauna (we did not have one in our room) for both evenings and they were signed us up immediately. Highly recommend making sure you have a sauna experience the night before your departure, at least! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night-excellent service and food, be sure to make reservations. The included hotel breakfast was excellent.

Arctic Light Hotel is a nice hotel with excellent service and comfortable rooms. It was mostly clean (though there was no hand sanitizer at the buffet breakfast). Some of the design choices of the hotel were style over substance. For example, the lighting panel near the bed gave many options for room lighting, but none of them involved turning on just one lamp by one bedside, meaning if you need a light during the night you must disturb your partner. There are a few other examples, but no need to detail them here. The breakfast is good, but not that impressive compared to some other, more affordable, Finnish hotels.

Difficult to better
2 night stay after overnight train from Helsinki and before Ice Igloos - arrived at 7am and asked if room could be available- it was - excellent service throughout, fabulous room (Polar Plus) - photos don’t do it justice- great location off main pedestrian area and near river- great restaurant and plenty of other choices on doorstep - Rovaniemi turned out to be a gem

Excellent location near the river, right across from the beach where the midsummer’s Eve festival is held. Great breakfast spread. Bright spacious rooms - nicely appointed. Most of all, though, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Max and Mark. Thank you Max for recommending a short walk to Arktikum Garden to watch the midnight sun (on June 22). A spectacular experience but plan on being there for 3 hours - sun slowly drops towards the horizon, reaching minimum around 12:30/12:40am, drifts horizontally across - hiding behind the hills for 1.5 hrs - before climbing up at 2am. Oh yes, bring bug spray or otherwise be ready for steady sorties by waves of hungry mosquitos.

A comfortable stay in Rovaniemi
The Arctic Light proved to be the right place for a two-day stay in Rovaniemi, in the middle of the downtown area with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and touristy shops. I also enjoyed dinner with a friend in the hotel's restaurant and tasted one of the reindeer meat offerings. I very much appreciated a discount on dinner as long as I charged it to my room (I don't know if that was a temporary offer or not, but I certainly used it.) Nothing negative to report, though I suppose I have to wonder about the very strange see-through bathroom door which functions like a two-way mirror. I'm not sure whose design that was, but it seemed a little kinky. I'm glad I was there with a good friend who found it funny. It could have been embarrassing otherwise. The Arktikum museum is within walking distance and that was a fun experience as well.

We had a polar deluxe room which was very spacious & comfortable. The bedding & pillows were great. All staff were extremely friendly. A shoutout to Joni & Mark on reception for making our stay so enjoyable. We were disappointed with the breakfast - it seemed to offer a lot but nothing quite complete - it was just odd to us but I note others have written reviews liking it. We dined at the Arctic restaurant each night. We found the food there to be excellent. We particularly enjoyed the beef tenderloin dish. We definitely recommend the restaurant.

Very nice hotel, rooms a bit bigger than usual, bigger bathroom, gives a little more pleasant vibe… everything is nicely decorated, clean… has a parking behind the hotel, all the main shops/restaurants are 5-10 min walk… staff super friendly… has a nice gym and sauna and a hang out place on the top floor, so you dont have to sit in the lobby… buffet breakfast is really diverse and rich and tasty… There is a restaurant in the hotel, and everybody should plan on getting a reservation, we were there a few night, they were booked for the whole night every day… we didnt expect that, so book in advance if eating there…
