Couples
For a couple,this Hotel has everything you need for your holiday - indoor & outdoor pool, spa, sauna, sun beds, pool bar,just a short walk to beach/shops & restaurants. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms,great entertainment.Would also be a good base for golf groups.

The staff were very friendly at the hotel apart from one person in the restaurant. We arrived late in the evening and the restaurant was just about to close. We ran in just to get some hot food for our 3 children and one of the people complained that we should not have been allowed in since they were finished in 5 minutes. Another waiter was very friendly and accommodating in the end. Check in was easy and quick. The room was a nightmare. The air conditioning vents were filthy and there was rust in the bathtub. I mentioned this in the check in review and it was rectified the next day, which we were happy with. The food was cold most of the time unless you were there when it was placed on the buffet table. The best part of the hotel was the water rides and the location, the kids really enjoyed the water slides and it was a big plus for the hotel, the location is 10-15 minutes walk from Port Aventura and about the same in the other direction from the beach area. Would not stay here again.

Good size rooms & friendly team of staff! We were visiting PortAventura so it was great to be walking distance from the park. The hotel is also walking distance from a variety of shops/bars/restaurants and about 10 min walk from the train station with frequent trains to Barcelona-Sants

Enjoyable stay, good location but very crowded
We had an 8 night stay as a family in August. Hotel is very clean. Location is good, about 15 mins walk to PortAventura and 15 walk to beach and centre of salou. Food was pretty decent - it can be busy but didn’t have to wait too long and there is plenty of variety. It’s a mass produced buffet style so it’s never going to be Michelin star quality but there was always something for everyone. The kids enjoyed the slides but I would say the downside of the hotel is how busy the pool and loungers are. Swimming wasn’t enjoyable as there were far too many ppl in the pool. I know it is peak holiday time but it just feels overcrowded. Many queued for loungers from 7.30am and none usually available after 9.30am for the rest of the day. WiFi also awful which is frustrating when trying to organise things online, was difficult to get any stable connection for any length of time any where in the hotel. Not sure I would return

*Good value! The breakfast and dinner included in half board were basic but ok for the price paid. The rooms were large and clean. The staff were busy but always friendly and helpful. Be aware - this is a big, busy resort and not suitable if you are looking for peace and quiet

The food selection for both breakfast and Dinner where very poor, possibly the worst I have ever had anywhere! The room was clean and had a nice view but overall was very basic. I stayed in this property about 10 years ago and the standards have dropped considerably. If I was staying in Salou again I would not stay here!

Amazing food options and wonderful choices for breakfast and lunch. Fun friendly place that was great for kids and adults near a great beach. It was a little loud at night from other guests but nothing that would stop from staying there again

The hotel had the ruins of a Roman villa in the grounds. Food was average but there was something there for everyone. The indoor pool, Jacuzzi and steam room were excellent . The pool had plenty of sunbeds the only negative being the towels put on them to reserve them as the area around the pool became very crowded.

This was a fantastic holiday at a reasonable price facilities for a 7&9yr old were excellent food was very good hotel was spotless spa facilities,pool & gym very good staff friendly and attentive we will definitely recommend this hotel

Great pool area and facilities for kids. Water slides were a winner. Breakfast was excellent, great choice. Staff very helpful. Really nice atmosphere, helped by the entertainment staff. Great family holiday. Only slight issue was the sunbed lottery. You won’t get one without putting a towel down early, but then if you aren’t there, they take it away. Difficult balance when you have slow eating young children and need to be close to the pool.

Ideal for family stay
I visited here on my own as I traveled around Spain, booked mainly for the reason it was a bargain half board stay. This hotel is ultimately perfect for a family with children. It is truly alive and full of energy and I would recommend it to my own friends and family with children. The buffet meals are full of an extensive range of foods and you will not go hungry as there is something for everyone. The staff (bar staff and entertainment) are fab and take much care and show passion in the work. The location is 10 mins walk to the beach which is a nice stroll but personally if I were to return to Salou as a lone traveller I would recommend staying nearer to the beach where the restaurants and bars are located.

Villa romana
Great hotel. Food a bit samey and waiters too thin on the ground at meal times which meant we went without any drink during dinner. Also the entertainment wasn't as good as I'd read in reviews but maybe that's because it's early season? That said, the reception staff are wonderful, hotel is clean and overall we liked it. Would go back again.

Good location and excellent value
This hotel is in an good location being halfway between the beach and the theme park both of which are in easy walking distance. It is also excellent value for money and whilst it is not perfect the staff work hard to give great service

Nice hotel . Staff could be a little more helpful - reception staff didnt know where to get bus to tarragona but turned out it was right outside hotel . Other staff need to learn how to smile. Entertainment staff excellent . Tea/coffee machines at breakfast not good and cups too small.

Guidelines for Management...
The restaurant staff are tripping over one another. The drinks policy at the table is crap water should be free and if a person wants a drink let them order it themselves. The pool is too small for the amount of guests the indoor pool should be open to family's of all ages. Pool tables are expensive at €2 if you have kids you should be trying to attract family's to stay in the hotel instead of sending them down town.The food selection should be varied more. Washing machines and dryers should be available to guests also.

very good service for the money
It was a great choice. The food is amazing and a lot of choices. The staff is speaking english. The animation team is great.In the evening is show for kids and after that for adults. The water in the pool was very clean and good temperature. The pool is big and animation team organise during the day polo games , aqua gym, games for kids. It takes you 10 minutes to the beach. We enjoyed our holiday and we recommend this hotel.

Hotel was fine staff very helpful would visit again but the rooms could do with an upgrade. Very clean thou just a little tatty. For instance bed spreads look old and not very enticing but the sheets were clean and white. Lamp shade missing on tall lamp just the bulb. Only minor things just needs a little attention. Overall had a great time staff very helpful food good choice would recommend

We had a great time at vil la romana. So convenient for the town and portaventura. Indoor pool was a godsend as we had a couple of rainy days. Food was great with lots of choice and freshly cooked dishes.

Great family holiday despite few hiccups
Travelled with my family and enjoyed the warm welcome and stay from the hotel staff. However, some improvement is needed with the night time entertainment offered though - was a little bit boring. Didn't also like the idea of having to wake up as early as 6am to secure sunbeds as they were way too few to cater for all the hundreds of people staying at the hotel.

Good hotel but room for improvement
A nice family hotel but let down a little by their inflexibility. Couldn't get a simple 2 hour late check out on departure despite giving them lots of notice. They refused to budge from their strict 1000 check out time. The hotel was busy but many were not checking in until late that evening so it was really just poor customer service. Also a lack of sunbeds and outdoor space (inadequate for size of hotel) meant guests were getting up 0700 as the doors opened and were stampeding for beds. On the plus side there were some nice staff not least David the lifeguard who was great and the breakfast was excellent.

Good family holiday hotel. Only issue with hotel was pool loungers. Although it was quite a sight to see adults running across poolside at 6.50am to reserve beds!!!
