"the Hotel is very large and lacks a feeling of Luxury or intimacy; Stuff and undertrained, English is hardly spoken, and consumption is outrageously expansive; overall it is an OK hotel but would need a deep renovation and review of conditions and services; i would not recommend this hotel"

"Frankly speaking, this Sanya resort is the worst Anantara I've been to. The breakfast was poor, the property is so small, and the only thing remind me that it's an Anantara is the fragrance. But also, comparatively, it's also the cheapest I've been to. So consider the price and value, maybe it's still better than some of the other brands."

"Lovely two day stay at the Villa in Sanya, away from any crowds and a nice beachfront mostly to ourselves. Breakfast was quite good even if dinner on-site was more average, but quite close to downtown Sanya so plenty of local dining options within easy reach. Very pleasant little retreat!"

"The hotel and beach are nice, but between a naval base and public beach, so long beach walks not available. The staff were sweet and try very hard, but few speak English so that presents a few challenges. The breakfast was ridiculously expensive, so we opted to buy fresh fruit from the market across the street every day -- yummy mangoes, bananas, melons, jack fruit and others. Cheap and great! Hotel food was good, but limited; mostly Chinese options. Bar menu was the best choice for us...

"Room rates are way overpriced for what they offer. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels in Thailand where I received a welcome drink, fruit basket, stocked minibar and more for half the price. None of these things were offered. The food at all outlets is shocking! I wonder if the GM ever eats there? My room was not very clean. Upon entering the room the floor was still wet from cleaning. The swimming pools are nice and location is good near to the beach, but I would not stay here again."

"Hotel is dated and needs a refurbishment. The addition of a heat pool would allow for winter swimming like at other hotels in Sanya. Restaurants were limited in selection and tired. Location seemed away from the any other decent off-site dining so overall not a great location if you are looking for a winter retreat. "

"This hotel was pretty nice. The room was clean. The buffet breakfast was immense and delicious. It included both typical Chinese food, and some typical Western food, all well prepared. The water has a non-potable symbol at the faucet. The toilet is a normal American style toilet. The bathroom is modern and includes a big tub, separate shower. The lighting is really dim. It's not bright enough to shave by. There is a telephone in the bathroom. The hot water was hot, the cold not...
