The first room I was provided in the 'tropical wing' was pretty much uninhabitable. Very old, the shower did not work at all - I spent almost an hour trying to fumble around in the old bath trying to get any water to come out. All I could acheive was a small cold trickle but not enough to shower under. The room was in on the 6th floor. Also the airconditioner was so loud that you could not sleep with it on, and with it off the room was like a sauna. Also the bathroom had the smell of mold. Very very bad for $300 per night!!!! The hotel I stayed at in Thailand last for $40 per night was 4 times nicer!!! I had to complain and they moved my room to one on the 10th floor. This was much better, with a modernised shower that actually worked and air conditioning that was quiet, but the tv did not work and the room was very small. No body lotion etc. Again, for a room that is $300 per night, it was woefully inadequate - iwould value it more like $100/night at most.
