How has taught me to not believe the pictures. As we drove up to the hotel their were piles of trash everywhere. Old newspapers covered the windows, the sign looked like it was tattered and run down, the entrance was dilapidated. It was nowhere near the Christmas market. I am still fighting to get my money back.

Family touring holiday
Very close to some of the Roman ruins which is why we were visiting Trier. Location of hotel did appear to be seedy with numerous strip clubs and night clubs in the street behind the building. Saying this we didn't hear or see anything when we stayed. We found a nice restaurant down the road which was great. Laundromat was within walking distance which was handy. Free parking was also a bonus. Loved the fact we had a 2 bedroom apartment with a lounge and kitchen. We would have stayed here longer as Trier had heaps to offer. Our location was a little way out of the main town but bus services are very close.

Worth staying at for Trier visit
The Hotel looks pretty rough on the outside and is in what appears to be a rough area. On the inside it looked good but the apartment room isn’t in the main building. The breakfast was worth the time savings. The room was well cleaned. Bring earbuds. It is near the fire station and near an all night busy street. If they sound proofed the rooms I would stay there again.

Busy location with traffic but friendly staff
Booked this hotel to be close to the river. From the photo it looked like it was possible to enjoy the sun terrace on the banks of the river. This is not the case. There is a 6 lane busy road between the hotel and the river and the terrace has none of the tablecloths or cushions - just metal chairs. So disappointed on arrival and lots of traffic noise as most of the local traffic crosses the bridge across from the hotel. However, location is only a short walk from the centre and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only tried the breakfast on one day as there are lots of nice cafes in town but it was good value. Overall not a hotel I would have picked if I have seen the real location but if you can put up with the traffic it is a reasonable choice for the price and you are not too far from some good restaurants.

Birthplace of Karl Marx
Interesting location right on the Moselle river, so easy to get out and about for a nice walk along the river. Also, the downtown area with outdoor cafe's is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I travelled with a co-worker, and our budget dictated that we share a room. I asked for a room with 2 twin beds. There were 2 twin beds in the room, but the were pushed together, and the other furnishings prevented them from being separated. They were not able to move us to a room that better suited our needs. Secure parking and a nice breakfast too! Photo is the bridge over the Moselle, across the street from the hotel. It's a Unesco World Heritage Site - the oldest standing bridge in Germany, and the bridge supports date back to the 2nd century AD, built by the Romans.

It was the best decision - to choose this hotel in Trier. Room was very warm and comfortable, everything matches description of the hotel on the site. Reception women was very nice and she helped us with some recommendations regarding the public transport, places to visit and so on. Breakfast was nice and tasty. Location is great, on the river bank. If you come in a warm season it would be nice to have a breakfast on the terrace. Everything was perfect, really recommend this place.

Overall experience was good. It's a non ac room so was provided with table fan. Breakfast wad charged separately on top of the hotels.com prices. Nice location and easy check in and out service by the receptionists. Car parking was provided with very nominal fee of 2 euros for each exit.

Great Family Option
We stayed in the apartment accommodation and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a full two bedroom apartment with a kitchen and living room. The room was great for our family, I couldn't have asked for a better option for our stay. The location was perfect as well, we walked to all of the major sights that brought us to Trier.

Convenient and well located
The chef was ill but the receptionist directed us to a number of excellent local restaurants. Trier is an amazing place to visit with many Roman buildings and medieval sites to see. Our room had a view over the river.

Part of our tour
Stayed here on our annual jaunt around Europe on our motorbikes. Really handy for getting to and parking for gthe bikes was free. 10 minute walk to the old town. Very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location for walking into Trier; just next to the river and with a terrace overlooking the river. The room was comfortable. The only drawback we found is that we would have had to pay for WiFi access in our room (which we think should be standard hotel facility).

Nicely located on the edge of the town and attractions. The hotel has free wifi but only in the reception area. If you want wifi in your room it's 5euros per appliance for 24 hours. The breakfast system of tickets is a little old fashioned, and didn't help when we misplaced our final days tickets, leading to us paying for a breakfast that we couldn't have. Very little English spoken. The hotel is clean and tidy, nothing special, but a great base.

Worth finding - a real treat
This is a real gem but it was hard for us to find because of the strange street names in Trier. Persistence was rewarded. To find this place, find the Roman bridge and then look across the street and read the second floor signs. The room and the restaurant were tops, The view from the restaurant terrace was superb.

Reasonable basic accomodation
Rooms are basic but adequate. Wearer was hot when we were there so we left the window open at night and there was allot of noise. They provided a fan that helped but was squeaky so almost as annoying as the street noise. Location is on the edge of the centre but close to the river. It is near the 'night club' section but not a problem. Hotel provided rental bikes at a good rate which was a great way to get around. Internet free but in the lobby only. Parking very easy and convenient. Would stay here again.

Hotel Constantin is a good option for a short break in Trier, as the centre is only a few minutes walk away.The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped, the breafast buffet is generous and all members of staff we were dealing with, were friendly and helpful. Convenient parking arrangements.
