Ok for an overnight stop
This hotel is fine for an overnight stop and in a very accessible location for visiting Troyes. The reception isn’t constantly manned and there is a delay when checking in or needing assistance but staff are friendly and welcoming. The room is very basic and having a third bed in a overhead bunk meant we were banging our head when getting out of bed! There is no air conditioning but I like to have an openable window. However the noise from outside is dreadful and would put me off staying there again. We have stayed on previous occasions but now there is no parking available on site. That was disappointing.

I suppose you get what you pay for
It was OK - no paking which was an issue and not highlighted on website. When arriving late this is problematical. Only 1 plug in the room and nowhere near the beds - not good for overnight charging. Bed was comfortable and did the job for an overnight stay

Relatively cold and unfriendly welcome at reception. I passed on that feedback directly to the receptionist. It doesnt mean that it happens all the time, that was our experience.

We have stayed previously at this hotel when it was Etap/Ibis. It's centrally located for the old town across the road; plenty of restaurants/bars; free on site car park and dog friendly. Room decent size and clean. En suite and shower clean but old. Good bed for a night's sleep. Grounds/area to rear and sides a bit of an eyesore but main street ok. Young lad on reception very helpful when I eventually found him. Didn't bother with food as stuck in a corner near lift/reception desk and didn't appeal, so we went to the old town. Overall ok for an overnight city centre sleep stop with our dog and free parking at a reasonable price.

Room was clean and beds were comfy, location was within walking distance of the city centre, which was amazing. The parking looks a bit neglected and didn't feel particularly safe (although nothing happened during our stay).

Good location
The hotel is very well placed to visit Troyes. Car park poorly maintained , lots of rubbish,bottles ... Breakfast is basic but was enjoyable. Room is functional for 1 night

Perfect for breaking a journey
Quiet - but we were at the back of the property. Obviously recently redecorated and not busy post Covid. Breakfast good value. Location excellent close to interesting medieval area. Parking good and suitable for high vehicles but one of the pictures shows a large parking sign which is no longer there.

Jean-Marie is a real credit to this hotel. Informative, professional and friendly. Also fluent in English and French (plus other languages). Hotel is very central to the ‘Centro Historico). Private parking a bonus. But the hotel is old and rooms/furnishings were tired.

Promises things but then never responds to e-mails
This hotel made multiple promises over the phone to Hotels.com saying we could move our stay owing to the pandemic (which I admit was not in the terms and conditions as I booked a non-refundable stay). We asked at least twice before our stay and three times afterwards and each time Hotels.com called the hotel and the hotel said "Yes, just e-mail to confirm" then the hotel never replied. The hotel also never replied to my e-mail. Do not offer or promise things then never respond. Just say no in the first place. Very annoying!

Basic but clean
The hotel was clean & basic - i didn't expect anything more. The downside was the heat. It had been a very hot day. There is no air con in the room and it was so hot. I understand you could have asked for a fan at reception but not sure it would have helped much.

lean basic hotel in a convenient location
This was a good basic hotel. It is definitely a ‘no frills’ place but nice and clean so adequate for an overnight stay.

Great choice for a quick stopover
Great for a brief stop over on our way through France. Great location, parking, decent breakfast and Covid secure measures in place. No bedding for child’s bed in room when we arrived but the receptionist was helpful and found us some very quickly. However this would have been an issue if we arrived late and reception was unmanned. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Location great for a quick walk to the medieval city which is beautiful. Would stay here again!

No aircon absolutely baking hot. No service. Had to make own beds for kids. Drinks machine broken. Swallowed our money but helpful staff wouldn't help....

Staff friendly, cheap and cheerful place, car park a bit sketchy, but most importantly: if you would like a good night's sleep in the summer then maybe consider paying for a hotel that has air con or windows that have mosquito nets and open more than 3cm!

We arrived and the room wasn't clean, they changed us of the room, and the toilet paper was disgusting. The code to open the commun areas didn't work. The boy that was working in the reception was very friendly 😊.

Not very comfortable.
Great location, kind staff and there is a big free car park in the back. Adequate room but with no air conditioning and the road was very noisy so we had to close the window in the night. The bathroom was a bit run down but what was really disappointing was the almost empty bottle of shower gel and the fact that we were given just one towel each.

Lovely hotel
Hotel was not expensive and close to the centre with a carpark. The only slight thing was the fruit was not refilled at breakfast

Approach to car parking was like a building site, no signage from the road as regards parking. The room was fine but the beds were probably the most uncomfortable that we have experienced at any Ibis. The soundproofing was awful and you could hear all the comings and goings, you could see light round the door edges. On the plus side the staff were great

For our second stay we arrived late (1am) but were conscious of remaining quiet as we had 2 rooms booked. It could have been a language problem but I believe we were told off for the noise we created. It could have been other unreasonable quests complaining but as the criticism was unfair we were left upset..

Room was basic but adequate. Location is excellent. Staff don’t speak English but we managed ok. It’s a Budget Hotel but good value for money. Hotel room clean and in good repair. Corridors not so pleasant and it could be loud if it was full.

A fairly basic hotel but clean with parking and a fairly central location. Could do with bit of an update in the corridors and rooms are not soundproof so you can hear people down the corridor. The town of Troyes is beautiful although very limited shops / restaurants open on a Sunday.

A rather tired old building, which seemed to be run by one person - she was doing rooms, breakfast, reception, everything! She was very welcoming. Hotel is in a great position and has good sized free car park. Rooms are small, very hot (no a/c, small window), but you get what you pay for.

Rated lower than budget
I have stayed in many budget hotels but never 1 as dirty and run down as the Ibis Troyes Budget, the bathroom was filthy. The floor was still dirty from the previous occupant and the bunk bed above the double bed still had the dirty bedding on from the previous occupant. We could not leave the window open at night in the heat as the room was accessible from the window which was level with the roof top car park, the safety catch could be opened from the outside and oh boy was it hot in there. As the room was already prepaid we had no option but to stay in this horrible room. Come on Ibis get you act together and clean this place up, it's disgusting.
