This resort is superb!!! We got married at the resort and spent the rest of the week on site. There are enough food and beverages so that you never have to leave property. So many pools we did not even make it to all of them. There is plenty of stuff so that you never want or need for anything.

Took a trip to Secrets in Tulum after reading so many mixed reviews and I can say it has its pros and cons. Cons: check in is at 3pm and our room was not ready until 4:15pm. We got the preferred option and our friends got a welcome bottle of champagne and we didn’t. The hotel layout is very confusing and we noticed that a lot of people were lost just like us. The elevators don’t have ac and the tulum humidity makes it feel horrible. Our room sink leaked water. Most pools (except for the preferred pool at Gottos) don’t serve alcohol after 6pm. The music is honestly ridiculous all in all the pool areas. All the pool areas have sand so you will always take sand to your room. We asked for a piña colada at Bluewater one night and we were told that they didn’t have a blender when we had ordered piña coladas the night before at the same restaurant. According to the preferred option description “ preferred areas had premium liquor options” and when I asked for a Don Julio tequila shot it was probably the worst tasting tequila I’ve ever had and having experience drinking tequila I knew it was bottom shelf tequila. Pros: the restaurants don’t require any reservations so it makes it easy to have dinner at any time without hassles. The beach club has good food and the staff was great. There is an area for preferred club members with plenty of beach loungers. The preferred area pool is open until 11pm and is the only pool that serves alcohol until that time. Food was great.

This resort is a liability for the entire Secrets brand as their service is far below the company's standard. In a yr this will be the perfect resort, but until then stay away or visit and email corporate about your experience so they can clean house. However, this property is also very promising. We absolutely loved the room, location and while we also enjoyed the main restaurants, the casual eateries are another story. The buffet was lackluster at best, as the variety is lacking and repetitive. The lack of a mexican restaurant was also noted. The room was fabulous, but the lack of a privacy rope curtain in double rooms is regretful, as the 1st thing you can see when walking in your room, is your roommate showering. The beach club is amazing, but the food here is just like the buffet....lack of variety. For some reason the gift shop is still not completed..6 months later, so If you need sunscreen, or anything else, you have to walk to the go-mart 1 block away. I also never received a room upgrade as I am a VIP member, and when asked they said "You current room is better, as it is a swim-up and the upgrade is a preperfered tropical". Glad you like to make decisions for your guest, but I can make my own decisions. In the end, I kept my room, with a promise of preferred club amenities, which meant nothing, cause I never received a bag, butler or prefered service, just pool use. In conclusion, it's a good resort, but it's NOT a Secrets resort that most of us know and love.

We had an amazing time. Patricia hosted the pool work out and was super sweet. Oviel the bus boy was so helpful and fun. The outdoor steak restaurant was great. We loved everything. The stag was welcoming and wanted clearly to please their guest. The room was so sweet.

This was our 9th vacation to Mexico and after reading some of the other reviews, we were a bit nervous about our vacation – but we had nothing to worry about. We had a swim-up room in the ‘3’ building and it was amazing – a beautiful room, nice décor, secluded and usually very quiet. The food was good too (better than most other places in Mexico that we had been to) – we always managed to find something great on each menu. A call-out to Orlando at Olio for his excellent service and always making us feel special. In general, we found the staff to be very helpful – our concierge Marlen checked in with us each day to see if there was anything we needed. It is a much quieter resort than others we had been to – but that was perfect for us. If you are looking for endless activities and entertainment, this may not be the place for you – but if you are seeking somewhere to simply chill and relax, you might like it as much as we did. One suggestion for improvement: we wanted to tip all our servers and bartenders, but it was almost impossible to change larger currency (in Pesos) to smaller notes… and nobody seemed able to help. I’ve never had this problem at any other resort.

Great experience & highly recommend. The opening teething issues are clearly behind them with the hotel fully functioning now. Rooms are super comfy, very luxurious with contemporary styling. Dining venues are great,l with lots of options and Tulum is a fantastic location to visit.

Perfect couples getaway. Lots of people have been complaining about this place prior to us going and we were hesitant. They don’t know what they are talking about. We have strong expectations and we enjoyed ourselves. Only complaint would be the temperature of the pools, but that’s how it goes at some resorts at this time of year. We went to the beach everyday anyways and our pool outside of our room was shallow and warm enough when we got back. Staff was superb and the restaurants were great, just don’t bother with the steak place, but that’s to be expected.

The property was beautiful the valet staff are con artists along with the taxi companies they extort the tourists for short taxi fairs. The sales staff pressured us in attending a UVC vacation club. A total scam and loss of valuable vacation time. I am very disappointed in the secrets property as a whole. my swim up pool never got any sun throughout the day the pool was freeezing so a waste of money to pay for swim out pool. The hotel provided a useless voucher for discounts but you have to spend more money to receive the discount. As far as enjoying the property they lack entertainment and bars are all hit and miss. Very poor service great looking property a lot to work on as a whole. Majority of the staff is rude and unprofessional demanding tips and making comments under their breathe I would not recommend this property and I would AVOID UVC SALES PITCH they sell you a dream BUT LOOK AT THE REVIEWS DONT FALL FOR THE SCAMS. GET UR TAXI PRICES IN writing bc they change them on arrival and force you to pay double. Overall bad experience would avaoid the sales team they appear nice but are vultures

Resort was amazing, spacious and clean. Staff from arrival to exit were friendly and helpful. Thank you Edel in lobby, Abraham, Hector and Yiytzah in market cafe. Always something to do transportation ready everytime to head to the beach or join in on a bike tour provided by resort. Coffee shop was delicious great taste and presentation!! Overall great property - beautiful esthetic and great staff. Pools are very cold and not heated, makes the swim out room not worth it during colder season. Some restaurant menu options still need work over overall the food was great with a large enough selection to come back multiple times. Would recommend longer operating hours for bars/restaurants, some things seemed to close too early and there is not much to do in the evenings.

Don’t even think going to this property, I’ve been to so many hotels in Mexico but this one was by far the worst in service and the worst food I ever had, this property is so unsafe, we were A group of 6 middle age and we had so many incidents, the property has so many unsafe narrow steps without any railings to hold. The service was truly terrible and the workers were all so rude, it took an hour every day for the car to take us to the beach with dirty old station wagons and each time we had to wait one hour to go and come back, it was the worst experience, I never left A review but I had to do it for this hotel.

The property was okay, not that exciting, but they needed more restaurants and more dining for guests with minimal food in in-room dining also. They also had fewer options. The bar closed at 11. Come on, you are in Mexico. I have been to so many times with different resorts and never had any issues with food. Also, pushing people to buy their membership is too much. Never coming back here

Staff was very nice and that is about it for the pros. Weird set up, very confusing to get around, too much sand at the pool area . Not a pleasing design. Very limited food options, breakfast buffet was super small. ALCOHOL IS A LOWEST QUALITY if you dont upgrade to a preferred club . BEACH IS 20 MIN AWAY WITH TRAFFIC!! Road to the beach is in a poor shape.Alcohol selection is horrible at the beach so is bathroom facilities . No section for the preferred guests. Outdoor restaurant is useless due to rain and mosquitos.

When we checked in, we noticed half the resort was blocked off in areas all around the resort (still in construction), there is dust just about everywhere, including your room! So you WILL hear noise in the early AM. The AC does not work! It is constantly running but never drops in temperature, so nights are warm! Our faucet water is boiling hot but no hot water in the shower! We constantly had to call in to get our room cleaned & even then, they would do the bed & leave everything including dirty dishes that are insight for days. One of the nights we had room service, we waited 3hrs! Every time we called to see an update they would say 5min but we would always wait another 30-40min! And when the food came, half the order wasn’t there and the one that did had hair. The food here is not good, quality is pooor. We ate out of the resort every day. We gave this resort some time before we wanted to leave early & when we finally decided this is just not worth the money, we spoke to multiple managers on leaving & getting a refund (wasted about 4hrs), they would not do a thing saying a bunch of excuses on why. Don’t be deceived by the looks of this hotel, it is beautiful but no quality to it for the money they are asking for, you won’t be getting what you are paying for.

This resort still has a lot of construction to finish with half of the resort still closed. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was alright at the restaurants. Tours and excursions and typically far away from resort so if you’re planning excursions add another hour at least to getting there and coming back to the resort. This resort will probably be amazing in a year or 2 when all the kinks have worked out.
