"Excellent property. Highly recommended if you want all the conveniences of a big hotel. Modern really nice rooms equipped with everything you need. Entire staff was extremely helpful from check in to check out. It was our first trip to Amsterdam and we particularly appreciated how helpful they were with giving us pointers on how to navigate the trams and Metro. The location was a bit away from the most crowded tourist attractions but easy to take tram to museums, Anne Frank house etc. also...

"The convenience of the location is that it’s a short walk to the Amsterdam-Zuid station making it easy to go in to town. The rooms are large & inexpensive compared to hotels in the center of the city. The area is a bustling modern business district w/many young professionals, and places to eat ( a grocery store, too) Also a fast frequent train to the airport. I’d highly recommend and look forward to staying there again. "

"Great location and only a few minutes to river cruise terminal, train station and downtown. A modern hotel with basic facilities in bedroom, though nice views of river from higher floors. Food is excellent: Indonesian including Rice Table (similar to Tapas in Spain). Buffet breakfast is very good, also. Staff lovely and very helpful"

"I’m sensitive to smells, and somewhat of a germaphobe, however I cannot get over how accommodating the staff was, and honestly made my trip more enjoyable. Lea from the restaurant was so entertaining, and great with recommendations, and the front desk was very helpful when I needed anything (outlet converter, iron, etc).the room and bathrooms were large, restaurant and bar were swanky. Traveling alone from the US, I definitely felt safe, close to all the great spots, and just great and high end...

"Our stay at the Van Der Valk was fine. It is too far from the inner city so travel expenses were higher. My only complaint was that me and my friend took an $100 baking class and the staff threw it away when they cleaned our room. The food was in a bag on top of our table no where near the trash. The staff did NOTHING to help solve this, even though they told me they would contact me. Since they ignored me, and pretty much acted like it didn’t matter, as well as the location, I would spend my...

"Great place to stay. Clean and more relaxed than central Amsterdam. Hotel was clean, breakfast good. We had a canal view. Stunning view. Only thing is that bar menu limited and complimentary water only given on day one "
