"A little challenging to get to but once you’re there you understand why. Really beautiful location. Tough to get food at night because most of the restaurants cater only to the daytime tourists which was tough and the ferry only runs so late so you can’t get dinner late and head back. Would suggest two nights at most and hotel should be a bit more proactive about suggesting offsite food options. Staff was nice when we got there and accommodating. Loved the daytime adventures. "Charming and traditional, a step away from the ordinary. The room was spacious and the bath ecperience was incredible."

"Staying at Kawaguchi was a wonderful experience. The innkeeper lady was very helpful in explaining everything and pointing us to good restaurants and giving general directions around the town. The room was surprisingly large with additional space for two in the loft. Tea and cookies provided in the room. Kimonos to wear around were a nice touch. We enjoyed the ofuro (onsen bath)."

"Nice traditional Japanese hotel, with super friendly and helpful staff. Located in the heart of town, a lot of nice small restaurants around, but not noisy at all inside the hotel. Area is well connected to tram and the main station. The Japanese breakfast (there is a choice between western and japanese breakfast) is great!"
