"This old coaching inn has been well revamped, service is first class. The food was excellent with good response to individual needs. Although pricey the rooms were up to a high standard. The roll top bath, with no screen, was a triumph of design over functionality. There was nowhere to put the soap! Having a shower without flooding the floor was tricky. The Chef produced first class dishes on every occasion. "

"Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, the wash basin was cracked, the furniture was chipped, and the decor very tired the several areas of the property needed decorating and maintenance especially the ceiling in the lounge which was very stained with a water leakage. The breakfast was very good and staff were very helpful."

The large hole in the driveway should have warned us not to go further.After a long drive and a nice stroll around very pretty Ludlow we were looking forward to a well earned drink and a good meal.The odd looking hotel we had booked in appeared to offer all of these things. But the receptionist only told us that no dinners were being served and that we would have to go out for dinner when we asked her ! So we did jump back into the...
