"Really convenient if you're travelling by train to Newcastle as it's only two minutes away from the station. Clean comfortable rooms in a really quite grand old building. Good breakfast on offer in the restaurant which is open all day. Good value hotel imo."

"We arrived to check in and told we would be staying in the sister hotel over the road . Had no problems with the hotel it was clean safe & quite as we were on the top floor . Considering it was between 2 busy bars we heard no noise at all . Very warm room & plug didn’t work in the bath but for £39 you can’t complain ! We opened the window & had showers . "

"The rooms were clean, the staff are professional and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food to choose from. The location is great close to stores, pubs and restaurants. The metro is right there and just 20 minutes away from the airport. "

"Usually choose HI express when in Newcastle. Easy to drive to , car park next door , everything we need (pubs and gigs) in easy walking distance. Staff always locals so helpful and friendly"

"Overnight stay after seeing a band at The Glasshouse. Large, clean, comfortable room. Only complaint was the Uber heavy, Uber warm duvet! "

"Great stay however someone had parked in the space outside our patio so couldn’t use this space for our own stuff. They were noisy when returning to their car at 10pm waking up my son. Maybe could number the spaces for the rooms "

"For the price it was excellent value The heating didn’t work in our room (hot water and shower did work and shower was lovely) but we did have a heater which worked a treat. There was complimentary breakfast bag and free coffee machine in the morning "

"The room was small and cosy, ideal for my solo trip. Nice bathroom, the only little thing i didn’t like was the lack of bath mat for the bath which i find a bit inconvenient cos it could be slippery, but one of the staff members provided me one. The rest was very good, receptionist was really helpful and friendly. "

"The pub was lovely and served great food and drink options. The rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit fairly basic and in need of modernisation, but certainly no complaints given the room rate. The pub offers great value for money and is dog friendly. We used it as a stop of travelling south from Scotland and we will likely return. "
