"As a Part of the Eurostar tunnel strike, we unexpectedly wound up in Calais and were well taken care of by this no frills hotel! Lovely basic breakfast - I’ve not seen a “cook your own egg” set up -along with fresh bread, pastry, yogurt and juice. I’ll definitely return to Calais and to the Hotel Brit. "

"For a budget hotel it was great for what l needed. Cheap and cheerful with lovely comfy bed and a terrific shower that properly blasted away the night before but, BE AWARE that this hotel is NOWHERE NEAR central Calais. It is basically designed for truck drivers and is out on a limb by the motorway and a 40 MINUTE WALK from town 😥"

"We have stayed in the Metropole many times on the last night of our holiday. New to the room was a kettle, tea & coffee. A good from us. We particularly like staying here, because there is a locked garage, so we feel safe leaving things in the car on our final night in France."

"Great hotel, really comfortable bed and decent pillows. Extremely clean and tidy. Downside was the corridor was a bit smelly of drains. However, once in the room you couldn’t smell anything. I would recommend this hotel. "
