The lobby, the courtyard, the rooms- all embodied that quaint bed & breakfast vibe that Carmel by the Sea is known for. "Loved all the boutique touches! I’m a light sleeper, so being on the first floor ended up difficult for sleep with the lack of insulation between floors. "

"Liked: location, parking, nicely decorated room Didn't like: Bathroom lacked sufficient lighting at the vanity. Heating didn't work well. Breakfast room wascramped and, for the price of the room, I would've expected something better than paper plates and disposable forks, knives, and spoons. Caveat: The hotel isn't handicap-accessible. Too many stairs. Didn't stay in a cottage, so I can't say if they're accessible or not."

The only drawback from the room is that there was minimal air circulation and when we first entered the room we needed to open the windows for a couple hours to air out the room.
