"Loved it here. Traveling with my 16 year old. Hearst Castle is a must. Beautiful beaches. I was just looking for a place to rest for a couple of days between San Fran and LA. What a great little town and a clean, inexpensive hotel to stay in right on the beach! delicious waffles for breakfast in lobby! Only con: no A/C and the rooms get pretty warm during the day. Rooms have fans tho. "

"Our first time to stay at Sands by the Sea. Very comfortable, quiet and an easy location within a few minutes drive to the Hearst Castle. Visitors Center. The room is roomy, clean and has a very comfortable bed! And great to reheat leftovers in the microwave, coffee maker and a bigger sized fridge available. The beautiful beach is an easy walk within a few minutes with a fire pit to keep you warm. "

"This 2 bd 2 ba condo has everything needed to comfortably house a couple with two additional people. The Master bd has a queen sized bed and attached bathroom. The other room has 2 single beds, and there is a bathroom in the hall. The kitchen, living and dining areas are very nice and the view of the ocean is unbeatable. "The house and location are great for family gatherings or large groups. The indoor and outdoor areas are very spacious with ample room to gather or find solace. The kitchen was fully stocked with a large dining table for communal eating. The view from the balcony was stunning! The boat dock is a 5-minute walk down the hill, but the water didn't look swim-worthy. If you're looking to get away from people and urban living, this is a wonderful refuge.
