"Immaculately kept residence in a very good area with excellent transport links into Funchal centre. Very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms are very comfortable, spacious and have great views. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the waiting staff were helpful and pleasant and the main pool and pool areas were spacious with plenty of sun beds available. Very enjoyable stay and we would love to return one day in the near future."

We dropped our things off in our room and just loved the look of the room and the fact that they had towels available in the room to use for the pools. "We had a fantastic stay! The staff were super friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spacious and spotless, with views over the sea - beautiful! The hotel is located near lots of great restaurants and has a bus stop nearby to easily get around Funchal. The car park is fairly small but we had no issues finding a space for three nights. We'd definitely recommend the hotel."

"Great hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The place was very clean. It was great having access to all of the facilities of the park hotel next door. Location was perfect, closer to the “old town” Funchal than most of the hotels, about a 20 min walk to the center, but great area near a lot. Overall I felt very safe, only thing to note is that there is no one at the front desk between midnight and 7am, but you will need your key card to get into the building...

"Big hotel. Big rooms. Great pools. Modern, with conference style feel. Remarkable buffet, no need to go up the road and pay extra. Chocolate fountain on two nights. No decaff tea - go next door to the cliff after dinner for that. VidaMar suited us as a great base (we didn’t rent a car), we used bus or booked trips. The ‘west’ jeep discovery tour is a must. Plus all the other go-to places. Walk to Camera de Lobos and get the bus back. Madeira exceeded our expectations. "

Definitely book a spa appointment ahead of your reservation, as they were al booked up while we were there and the prices were quite reasonable. Good buffet breakfast with a few options including cold, cooked, and sweet. Great location, with free parking a short walk (paid parking closer by, but rarely spaces available). New bathroom and amazing shower. We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended."
