"We returned here for the 2nd time and had a really good time. Homely good food, cooked fresh every day. The rooms are not huge but are comfortable and clean, with the tea and coffee supplies restocked daily. We will be returning next year if not sooner. Thanks Lyness Guest House"

"This is a very traditonal hotel in the best sense of that word. The rooms are spacious and we had one with a great view towards Robin Hoods Bay. We had dinner and breakfast and both were very good."

"It's a beautiful hotel which is in need of refurbishment. For the price I paid I was happy with my stay. Downstairs is lovely but the bedrooms and corridors are not. The room was basic but adequate. If you want a luxurious room don't go there. If you want to experience the grandeur of a bygone age very cheaply and don't mind a basic room then this is the place for you."
