"Room was large and beds very comfortable. Hot water ran out in the morning so cold shower for friend. Food was varied and tasty at breakfast and evening meal. Lovely bar serving a variety of drinks and cocktails. Staff very friendly and helpful"

"Great Hotel"

"Loved all of it!!!! This is a beautiful and mystical hotel with lovely gardens and fine dining. There were so many beautiful rooms and the staff were exceptional."

"A very nice property although a bit run down, need of update including furnitures, we arrived late in the evening and found it very cold room we had to turn electric fire on and left it on right through the night, the food is average, no local shops near by, so you will need tuk tuk, staff are great, friendly and very helpful. "

"Thank you Deepika from the reception for all your help and thanks all other staff-members for the good service. This is a very nice place "away from it all" up in the mountains"

"Truly an amazing stay - all the staff were wonderful (Shan was great and very helpful!). Food was wonderful and it was the perfect rest we needed."

"Great hotel, Smith was super helpful and friendly "

"Very nice to stay! Highly recommend."

"Think Fresh Prince of Bell Air, Think Jetwings Bungalow. Sanath is your very own Uncle Geoff, there's very little that man can't do. Food is impeccable, service is attentive and the setting is of a colonial home. It truly is nostalgia magnified."

"The room and balcony were excellent. I particularly liked the tea-making facilities in the room. The quality and selection of food in the evening and breakfast buffets was also very good, and the staff if anything were too attentive. Check-in was very lengthy but we appreciated the hot chocolate while we waited. The worst thing about the hotel is its location, about 3 miles from town. Even though we stayed over the Sinhalese new year, the whole place was strangely lacking in atmosphere -...

"Stayed here for 1 night but it was absolutely delightful! The staff was very hospitable, the amenities were great, location of the hotel relative to the touristy attractions was fantastic. The breakfast was a la carte but on point, room was decent sized and clean too. Gave us nothing to complain about. 9/10 and would highly recommend."

"This property is meticulous and staff is so attentive. Beautiful surrounding and views!"

"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. It's a quiet location, with stunning rooms - which is a welcome change if you're staying mostly in guest houses or big resorts. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect, and the sounds and smells of nature were great - if you like the sound of birds chirping, this is a place for you. There's one tree with tons of them (they said 1,000 but I couldn't wrap my...

"I came for the view and it was super! The staff is really great and going above and beyond to make the stay satisfactory. I liked my stay here overall "

"Chiran our butler was so attentive to our every need, he made our stay at Oatlands so special. The property itself needs an upgrade, it is showing signs of wear and tear. Nearby St Andrews hotel is lovely to have a drink and dinner."
