"This hotel is so unique. It’s a place to stay if you are interested in Spanish history and would like to stay somewhere that honors the past. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about the pazo’s history both of the family that owned it and general history of the area. "A truly wonderful hotel, a historic landmark. An old monastery completely renovated for a hotel. Great rooms, restaurant, and services. Getting there a bit hard, as roads are very windy. However, there are spectacular views and clean air. It is very quiet at night, no nightlife or shopping around, but you will not need any if you there to relax and enjoy! Highly recommend!"

"It is a pleasure to write a review of Casa das Capelas. It is a large and beautiful, fully renovated, historical building, set in lovely grounds. My excellent room looked out over rolling countryside. So peaceful. And the owners were extremely hospitable. There is a great patio to have a glass of wine, meet a few locals and eat a light dinner. Highly recommended. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in the area."

"The highlight of our 2 day stay was Joseph. He was a five star employee, really positive, helpful and a great ambassador for the hotel. Our 'premier' room was spacious, clean and modern. Everything we needed. We don't like leaving negative reviews but his hotel just lacked any sort of guest interaction (apart from Joseph!). The breakfast time had to be booked and adhered to.. but the offer was really poor. No member of staff present, really basic and no real thought. We choose to stay in this hotel as it was my birthday treat. We told reception before we arrived but they did not even wish me a happy birthday let alone leave a message. We would have been a lot happier somewhere else! If you want a soulless place to say which is clean, modern and central this is fine. Don't expect anything more... unless of course Joseph is working ."
