Farmstay at Fleece, Flock & Fibre an historic railway station in Taralga
10/10 Excellent
"A great escape, perfectly located near Taralga and Wombeyan Caves. I stayed with my friend and her 9-year-old daughter, and we all had an amazing time. The sheep were the highlight for her daughter — the hosts were incredibly kind, letting her feed them, and she even learned all their names. When we left, I'm surprised if she’d tried to sneak Sid into the car with us!"
"The cottage has been renovated recently and is a great mix of heritage and modern comforts. Really well located, right in the centre of town. Jack is also very quick to respond to any questions. "

"The house is very comfortable and convenient.Plenty of heaters to warm up the house. Some nice supplies in the kitchen including a bottle of orange juice, milk etc.The backyard has some nice outdoor activities for children and plenty of outdoor settings for parents to relax. I enjoyed my short stay. "
"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Blueslate Cottage in Curraweela. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the warm and friendly hosts who have truly created a peaceful haven. The cottage itself is rustic and cozy, yet very well-appointed with everything we needed. It had a charming, lived-in feel that made us instantly relax. The views were stunning—especially the sunsets, which were nothing short of magical. Our daughter was absolutely delighted by the friendly horses, playful dogs, and cheerful chickens that provided us with the freshest eggs each morning. Wildlife was abundant, adding to the authentic bush experience, and the location is perfect for visiting Wombeyan Caves or just unwinding in nature. This place is a gem for families, couples, bushwalkers, and animal lovers alike. We couldn’t recommend it more highly—5 stars from us and we can't wait to return."
"A lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. Owners were so lovely and friendly. We all had a lovely time perfect place to relax and enjoy Christmas in July. We even saw an emu on the property! "
"Beautiful and extremely quiet spot that our family enjoyed for a few days. Tint Akira has everything you need. Only negative point is that you have to take your rubbish with you with no dump bin at the end of the property. It is not the best after 3 nights with a family of four and a full car!"
"Great place to stay with everything that you need. Good location for dinner, and so relaxing.
Will definitely come back again.
Host was so obliging and happy to accommodate our request of booking changes because of date alterations for a specific event.
Would highly recommend. So inviting!"
Abercrombie Ridge - Lux BARN and Spa Retreat - Pet-friendly
10/10 Excellent
"This beautiful spot along the Abercrombie River was the ideal setting for a getaway with friends. Our group of six stayed in the Barn, which exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and amenities.
The Barn is designed perfectly for a group, with comfortable beds, open style living and an amazing kitchen that is well-stocked with quality cooking equipment, making self-catering a breeze. We spent much of our time enjoying the views from this fantastic accommodation, but we also ventured out for some bushwalking and exploration in the nearby National Park.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the hot tub. There’s something magical about soaking in warm water outdoors while gazing at the expansive night sky filled with stars. It was a great way to unwind after a day of activities.
Another charming aspect of our visit was the two dogs on the property, Jackson and Mitchel, both Australian Kelpies. They joined us on our bushwalks, and their presence made our experience even more enjoyable.
All in all, I can’t think of anything that could have improved our stay. Just a tip for future visitors: make sure to bring all your essentials, such as milk, corn cakes, and bread, as it’s quite a journey to return for forgotten items. Abercrombie Ridge truly offers a luxurious camping experience without the hassle of tents, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with friends.
