May 2011 Admiralty building, St. Petersburg, Russia The dome spires are a trademark of Russian clasicisism architecture. The most famous in St. Petersburg is the tower spire of the Admiralty building from first half of 18th century. It is plated in gold and called the Admiralty needle.
