We enjoyed the little house and found it very cozy and moderately well-appointed (I do love to find coffee accoutrements such as creamer etc wherever I stay, plus bottled water in an area where the water tastes like sand is a nice touch). However, the neighborhood was completely not what I expected when the description had said it was close to Bruce’s Field …. This is an area close to the horse park that I have never seen before and that did not feel safe or neighborly. We owned a house in aiken for several years near the Green Boundary Club and I had assumed it was close to there. Silly me! Since it was just my daughter and myself, we were a little scared. The yard was nice and the area looked better in the daylight than it did when we checked in at dusk. I made the mistake of not telling the owners I had a small dog with me, but I happily paid their pet fee when requested. While the stay ended up luckily being uneventful, it was soured by he fact that daughter left her blanket to which she is sentimentality attached and which cost over $200 and the owners never got back with me (despite feeling like I was hounding them) over whether it was found. We know we left it so if it was not found that is due to a housekeepers mistake or dishonesty. That part of the stay was the most unfortunate! We were going to book another property owned by these owners for two weeks in May, but not after the blanket incident. Overall it’s a cute cottage but some aspects were disappointing
