Port Watch Akaroa is the real deal – a traditional Kiwi bach perched above the harbour, set on roomy grounds with space to spread out. Named for its sweeping outlook across the water, it’s the perfect spot for families and friends to enjoy a laid-back Akaroa escape.



This isn’t a polished hotel – it’s a bach with heart. A mix of comfy, well-loved furnishings, retro pieces, and quirky touches give it that authentic Kiwi charm. Light the wood burner on chilly nights, flick on the heat pump for instant warmth, or throw open the doors to the big deck and garden when the sun’s out. Fire up the BBQ, crack a cold drink, and take in those magic views over the harbour.



Surrounded by native bush and tall trees, the house feels private and peaceful. The birdlife here is unreal – tui, bellbirds, kererū and more will often stop by, adding to the real Kiwi nature experience.

-Master Bedroom (Upstairs): Queen + single bed, with an ensuite bathroom (bath and toilet, no shower).

- Mezzanine (Upstairs): Queen + single bed, with its own separate toilet.

- Bunk Room (Downstairs): Two sets of bunks (sleeps 4).



Main Bathroom (Downstairs): Shower and toilet.



There’s plenty of space for everyone – perfect for kids, grandparents, and mates tagging along. With bathrooms on both levels, no one’s queuing too long.



In town (just a few minutes away) you’ll find great fish and chips, cosy cafés, harbour cruises, and boutique shops. Then head back up the hill to your own peaceful perch, with loads of room for the kids to run around while the grown-ups kick back.
