"This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it exceeds expectations. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was exciting and delicious, and the decor was creative with plants, travel information, and themes of Okinawa. Great for young or independent travelers who like a taste of multiculturalism. My parents in their late 50s also loved it and found it entertaining. Note: the bathroom facilities were a little rugged, if that's important to you."

"A lovely Japanese inn with incredible food, comfortable bedding and wonderful hospitality. We spent two of our week long Yamaguchi prefecture trip at Hagi no Yado Tomoe and we were very happy with our choice. Evening meals presented in our room were exceptional. It was a traditional Japanese ryokan meal but with some western style interpretations. "Great budget hotel! Clean, comfortable and conveniently located just a two minute walk from Shin-Yamaguchi Station. Was the perfect place to rest after having arrived late in the evening. Breakfast was great. If you need to leave early, get downstairs for breakfast early as it gets busy! Would recommend!"
