We stayed a few nights in the apartments. Check in was easy and it had a kitchen where we could make our own meals. It was walking distance from most of the main sights. It was nice.

Beautiful place. Really well organized condo layout. A bit irregular with # of plates, cups and utensils but there was enough for our family of four and the dish washer was very handy. Location is outstanding!

We enjoyed the open floor plan, windows, and updated designs. There was free designated parking which was great since we arrived by car. The property is in an industrial area but is still walkable to town center if you want to get your steps in, and grocery is even closer. My only feedback for the property is that they appear to offer and stock soaps and we did not have conditioner and the shampoo was empty when we arrived. Everything else was great.

Pros : very clean, well equiped kitchen. Laundry room with washer and dryer on the same floor. Cons : Opposite glass collection centre and in an industrial area, noisy by day. Shower was ALWAYS warm for 30 seconds then lukewarm, never hot (not acceptable). TV is not satellite it is internet and always buffering. Note: the only real apps were Netflix and Prime and you had to have your own subscription. No local or satellite channels.

Positive: Everything looks new Nice location Private parking space for each apartment Big supermarket just 3 min walk away Plenty of space for 2 pers. Various equipment Negative: Check in was after 16:00. We arrived 19:30 and the apartment had not been cleaned after last guests. Some parts of it had not been cleaned for some time since someone had written "Akureyri" in the dust on one of the shelfs. We called the manager and he was going to send someone to clean it but after ca. one hour he called us back and sent us to another apartment that was clean enough.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by a worker there. The worker was very kind, but he told us that because of a staffing shortage, we would need to wait for a bit outside for the room to be ready. All good, not his fault. But when we arrived, we were greeted by the alarm in our room going off once. Then one more time. Then another. We called the landlord who finally told us that they were just "doing tests" in our room, just when we happened to be there. Even if I am to believe that, I can only speak about my own experience at this hotel. Then, the shower situation. The shower is not closed off by a wall, so when you shower for any more than three minutes, the water spills out and floods the entire bathroom. The drain barely works. And clearly they are already aware of this problem, because there was a shower squeegee placed right next to the shower head to address the same situation that we faced: showering for more than three minutes. All in all, even though the room looked solid when we first stepped in, there ended up being too many issues with our stay.

All Together in Akureyri

Loved this property - beautiful apartment with a full kitchen and bathroom and comfortable sleeping arrangements for 4 people (1 queen bed, 1 pull out sofa bed). Great condition, close to city center, groceries, major sites of Akureyri. Communication with host was excellent. Property is quite accessible and easy to get to major attractions like botanical gardens, Akureyri church, and the magnificent Godafoss.

We found it difficult to find the property - a photograph of the front door/entrance would have helped. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and clean. There is a continuous noise - originating from somewhere outside the apartment - that interfered with our sleep.
