Excellent location but that is about it. The hotel itself is quite outdated and tired looking. It needs a proper renovation. Additionally service was not a 5* service, not even a 4* service. Unfortunately it seems like Movenpick's standard has significantly gone down.

Another wonderful stay at the Movenpick
I have stayed at the Movenpick on and off for the past 10 years and the service has always been excellent. The current management and team under Mohammed Al Khlaqi provides a true "home from home" experience and I always enjoy truly excellent Indian food and attentiveness at the Maharaja restaurant. In my view, the best place to stay in Al Khobar.

A Welcoming Home from Home Experience
A three night business stay at this great hotel, at which I've been staying for many years. The staff are courteous and friendly and there are a number of very nice touches, such as Arabian coffee and dates in the foyer and a live musician in the evenings. And as for the Marharaja restaurant, it is truly exceptional! A real "home from home" experience.

Top-Notch Employees
Saudi Arabia is a wonderful destination to begin with, but the hotel experience made it even more special. The one thing that I loved the most is that whomever you approached with an inquiry or request, they would NOT send you in circles; even if they had nothing to do with the operational aspect that you happened to address, THEY would get the information / solution. No "please call so-and-so" or "go-there-and-there" - THEY took care of it (and immediately), and that applied to everyone I asked something, from reception to catering to room service. Everything else (cleanliness, comfort, etc.) was great, too. Never stayed at a Movenpick before but if this is their global standard, then it could be my new hotel of choice during travels anywhere.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were so accommodating and pleasant. Great location also. The only set-back was the noise as our rooms overlooked the main road which was very busy late into the night. Next time I would request rooms to the back of the hotel, as I would stay again.

Excellent service
I stay here very often on my trips to Khobar and it is a very good hotel with great service and an exceptional Indian restaurant. On this particular trip, there were a couple of issues - lack of hot water and some problems arranging transport - however, the Manager Mohammed Alkhlaqi and the other staff did everything to remedy, including an upgrade to a suite and free transport to the airport. This was much appreciated and I continue to recommend the Movenpick.

It is a nice hotel, but the reception was terrible. We came from 5 hours travelling and had to wait over 25 minutes because there was 1 receptionist only and he was in discussion with a guy and totallly ignored the fact that there was 4 other customers waiting

More like a 3 star experience for 5 star price!
We were disappointed from the moment of checkin where our completed payment was “not found” in the system. After arriving late past 1am and waiting in the lobby with our kids while having to call hotel.com for helping us resolve this, this was quite a negative start. The rooms are quite old and beds uncomfortable- with no accommodation of a rollaway bed for our small children. Expected much better service for the $$$!
