"Went to lux grande gaube last year and loved it, staff, amenities, food and overall layout and experience better. Decided to try grande Baie but was let down, not bad just compared to grande gaube. Staff was more forced less attentive here, several times tables had ash and needed to be requested to be cleaned by us given we had a 2 year old not ideal. Water frequently forgotten, tables generally not ready for use at booked restaurants and needed cleaning. Staff kept forgetting to serve us, several occasions had to ask several times, felt the staff had less experience and less attentive. In general overall wasn’t anywhere near as good. Again not bad just not as good as grande gaube. Personally would choose grande gaube over grande baie, for service, anmenities and food also the beach service so much better at grand gaube non existent at grande baie which is more expensive, so service doesn’t match the price I’d say. Some staff very nice waiter in akisu, some others but just not consistent. Main chef also very lovely asking how costumers were and chatting to most "

"Room was perfect with lovely sea views and a large bathroom with a bath with sea views - bathroom does need a little updating but we didn't notice it. Location of hotel was excllent with beautiful views of Le Morne and the lagoon"

"From check in to the first night, the rating was 0/10. There was an issue with the room assigned to us and were told by a member of staff , that is your room. When the night manager was made aware of the problem, he started the ball rolling to provide an alternate room. Next morning, I was impressed that both the manager and assistant manager, took charge of the problem and relocated us to a different upgraded room. From then on it was 10/10. Room was clean, spacious, grounds very well maintained, breakfast and dinner buffets offered plenty of varied dishes. Well kept swimming pools, including an adult only one. Plenty of non motorised water equipment and an added bonus is that they offer free boat trips to a great snorkelling area, as well as free glass bottom boat trips. Dining and housekeeping staff all very friendly but special thanks to Vu, Vishay, and Stephan in conjunction with the Manager for making it such a enjoyable stay."

"Great hotel, staff very good and polite and have good communication. Disappointed that a complimentary late check out wasnt available after spending over £2k and staying at the hotel for 8 days. Room card was disabled exactly at 12pm, i had left somrthing in the room when i walked out and couldnt go back in to get it. Quite disappointing to an amazing hotel. Beautiful views across the hotel and great beach. Did not really enjoy the food at the restaurants so chose to order in remaining days. Went to Maritim which is round the corner for some horse riding and there are way better facilities available there. Overall, still great."

"Our room was clean and very well equipped- our thanks to Geetanjalee. All the staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent with so many options available for all dietary requirements. The setting is superb with spectacular views over various pools towards the ocean - and the sunsets were amazing."
