Took a long time for someone to answer the phone for us to get check in. But over all the place was nice and clean i felt very comfortable.

Our stay at Excellence Oyster Bay was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort is stunning, immaculately clean, and beautifully maintained — every area felt luxurious and well cared for. What truly made our experience exceptional was how accommodating they were with our halal dietary preferences. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had suitable options, and they were always respectful, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every staff member we interacted with was amazing — warm, professional, and dedicated to making our stay perfect. You can tell they take great pride in their service and the overall guest experience. The entire resort felt peaceful, upscale, and thoughtfully designed. Despite the hurricane’s initial impact, construction activities continued unabated. During our stay, we were deprived of essential amenities such as air conditioning and cable television. Furthermore, we were deceived into attending a consultation regarding a timeshare membership. This was orchestrated by the hotel staff, who had initially invited us to a complimentary breakfast and tour of the property. However, their intentions were solely commercial, as we were being targeted for a sales pitch. Overall, the property has amazing views, but we were not aware of some hidden parts of the property until the last day. And even after complaining to multiple staff members about our issues, nothing was resolved or addressed.

The villa was clean and well appointed. There was comfortable space for four adults though the lounge became somewhat cramped when the fifth adult arrived. There was a sense of safety and security at all times, which was welcome. Everything worked! Though rather removed from the beach there was easy access nonetheless. Other amenities were a short drive away. The corner deli, Scotchies for jerk delights and the petrol station. The highway and Ocho Rios proper were also easily accessible.

The room was spacious and the staff was very friendly. However the bed was beyond stiff. One of the hardest mattresses I have ever slept on. Overall the food was good but not the best I have had compared to other resorts and there were no options for lunch by the pool area (unless sitting by the kids water park on the opposite side of the resort) and the lunch buffet was absolutely terrible. Dinner food was good but it was difficult to get reservations to the two "reservation only" places unless you paid extra to be in the "privelege" club and that was not disclosed when making the initial reservation. The only spots ever left for reservation were 9:00. The highlight for food, since we never got to eat at the italian spot, was the breakfast buffet and the hibachi dinner. Hibachi was excellent and Chef Dwayne was very entertaining and quite the singer!
