This was our second time renting Hidden Bear. It was clean, cozy, and our pups enjoyed the fenced backyard. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful and we loved seeing the deer and rabbits as they grazed by the yard. We will be back!
This house met all of our expectations! It was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The beds were just right and we slept so well! Our fur babies enjoyed exploring the lovely backyard. Visits from six young deer were a daily highlight. We will definitely stay here again!
We had such a wonderful time in the home with the spacious kitchen, comfy living room, cute loft with a game table, and ample TVs. We also took daily walks and enjoyed the community amenities with the playground and sandy beach. We even took the 2 mile walk to the playground one day and had an amazing time in the neighborhood. Our daily trips to different tourist locations were fabulous as well, but it was so great to come back to our home-base for the week.
Perfectly described location. It was central to all of our family’s activities and was a great starting point. Property was clean and surprisingly spacious. Having a fenced in yard was a godsend because we had our dogs with us. Will ABSOLUTELY look to book this location again on our next trip to the Poconos.
Perfect getaway close to Jim Thorpe and the Lehigh Gorge bike trail. The house itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Great communication and directions from oweners. It’s a peaceful, comfortable retreat that’s close to adventure and nature. Highly recommend for a weekend escape!
The house was exactly as pictured and described. We stayed two families with two 6 year olds and it was a perfect size for us. Very close to Big Boulder and about 25 minutes drive to Jack Frost. We would book again.
The property was well maintained and spotless. It was extremely comfortable and quiet. There were a lot of little touches that made the stay that much more pleasant, such as dog blankets for our pups. The fireplace was used every night. Trails everywhere for us to take our pups for long walks. Just delightful in every way!
I wanted a short vacation but didn’t want to travel and make a big deal of it. So I rented this lovely house in the Poconos just two hours from home. I invited my four grandchildren for the weekend and spent the rest of the week, snuggled in front of the fireplace with a couple of good books.Super quite neighborhood.
We enjoyed the pet friendly nature of this rental. We would caution people with young infants that the upstairs railing and guards are wide spaces and we had to watch closely with our 1.5 year old. Otherwise, it was nice. Especially enjoyed the bonus pancakes and syrup left by the owners.
Very nice, clean, great fenced in yard for dogs, and close to Jim Thorpe for our planned activities. Would have liked more detailed instructions about how to unlock door as I had never encountered that lock before, and it was frustrating because there was no ✔️ to enter after entering numbers and so got locked after too many unsuccessful attempts.
.
Overall we loved our stay at this property. The location was perfect. The fenced yard was an amazing perk for traveling with our husky. The house was clean and spacious for us. The wide variety of apps on the TV was amazing for evening entertainment. There was even a gift of pancake mix for us to enjoy! The only issues we had with the electronic key lock were remedied pretty quickly by the management company via VRBO app but it would have been more comforting to have a number to call someone. There are some stains on the carpet but it’s to be expected I suppose for a pet friendly listing. Would definitely stay here again.
Two of my friends and I stayed here to have a girl's weekend away. It was so lovely! Autumn was in full swing. Only a 20 minute drive from Jim Thorpe, where we enjoyed the Fall Foliage Festival. The house was in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfy, and the back deck had great swings for lounging. We loved the fireplace and the cozy couch.
The pots and pans could use replacing, and driving 10 minutes away to take our trash out at the end of the weekend was a little annoying, but other than that we have no complaints!
Thanks for a great weekend! We will be back. ♥️
We enjoyed our stay. This retreat gave us the quality time we needed as a family to disconnect from the rest of the world. It is always a pleasant surprise to walk and expect to see what you pay for and the pictures are exactly like the cabin. Another plus was the job Lynn the housekeeper did - it was exceptional. It was nice to be greeted by a truly clean home, especially after a long ride.
We enjoyed the scenery. It was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed the game table - it allowed us to play for hours (Scrabble, Basketball, Operation, and Candyland).
We thought it was so sweet - a personal touch - welcoming pet blanket and roll of poopy bags. The honey soft soap was another nice touch. We loved the pancakes and syrup - very thoughtful and thank you.
We plan to come back to your cabin.
Home was perfect for myself, my father and our pup! We come to the Poconos so our pup can enjoy the outdoors as we live in more of a city. Fenced in backyard was a huge plus and also the gated front deck, which ended up being my dogs favorite place. Would have been nice to have a few chairs out there.
Initially check in was very easy, until we left the home and came back to find the sun had warped the digital keypad to re-enter the home. Thankfully I had the number of the local office and it was quickly remedied, but definitely makes you think about otherwise having to call a corporate number to get assistance.
Something to note, the next door neighbor, on most nights, would be outside screaming obscenities and seemed to be in a very agitated state. It was slightly unnerving and we probably didn’t utilize the backyard as much as we would have liked.
My family and I wanted a little get away with our 2 small frenchies. The house was nice and cozy, the pillows are a bit hard. We seen many deers. The fireplace was great. We had pretty much everything we needed. Contact with the property manager was great. The property is located in a great location, we were close to everything. My frenchies really enjoyed themselves.
What I didn’t enjoy was the fact that the front doors do not have any tint so you are able to see right into the house. I’m a New Yorker, I like my privacy. The house had no mop/swiffer so on Saturday when it rained we tracked water into the house and had to clean it up with bounty. The coffee machine could really use a deep cleaning, I had to clean that out a few times before I could use it. The downstairs bedroom has its own bathroom but has bunk beds, I would have preferred to stay in that room with my partner had it not been for the bunk beds.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves and don’t regret picking this location for our stay.
We booked the weekend to enjoy with my fiance, his family and 2 dogs. The house exceeded our expectations. We were able to make home cooked meals with their fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed a welcome present of pancake mix and syrup from the host. The carpet had a couple of stains but it's to be expected. The house over all was very clean. The host also left baskets in each room with towels, washclothes and soaps. The back porch was great to hang out on especially with the hammock style chairs. It was about a 15 minute ride to Jim Thorpe where we got to enjoy the fall festival and exploring local shops. We will definitely book again!
