You can't beat the view of the Monastery from this hotel. Very conveniently located with enough shopping and dining options within walking distance.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Mosteiro. Both free and paid parking options but only about 4-5 free spots. Many dining options nearby. Property is a little dated and the room's carpet definitely needed some shampooing or replacement.

We were shocked to see this hotel in such an old condition and in need of renovations. Old carpets, stale smell in our room, old linens, but clean. The breakfast room was styled like a high school cafeteria with cheap tables and chairs. The continental breakfast was just acceptable with the standard fruits and eggs. Limited choices. . We had the impression that the staff were unhappy as nobody said good morning or offered any smiles, even at check-in. This hotel could be fantastic given its location mere steps to the famous and amazing Monastery de Santa Maria. The reason people would choose here is it is a budget price. (We spent our savings on great restaurants). We would not stay here again.

The property it's the most central in Alcobaca. This is our 2nd stay. Main reason to return it's central. However carpets needs to be changed we upgraded for a balcony there is only a few. But no table or anything. In general it's good but dated and carpets should have been replaced years ago. Breakfast it's a bit on basic side for the side of the hotel.

Great location and views

The location could not be beat. Right across from the Monistrary. The bells rang til 10, which concerned us. We thought maybe they went all night. Parking cost to stay onsite but is free for the hotels lot up the hill. Easy walk to free parking and it seems secure. Hotel condition? Picture a beatire hotel from the early 70s and then only use half the lights. Bed was ok. Pillows were too soft and didn't support your head, even when folded.

NO AIRCONDITIONING + NO HOT WATER+STENCH SMELL

We got to the room assigned to us and the Air Conditioning was not working at all. We were assigned to another room and again the Air Conditioning was not working, despite the fact that we were told on both occasions that they were previously working - when not sure, maybe last year!!! The front office clerk, Ugo, tried to convince us that they were working in the past, but unfortunately we do not live in the past. We were told that the Air Conditioning company was to come the next day to look at our 2nd room unit, that did not work and had to sleep with the windows wide open of which a small bird flew in the middle of the night....We left in the morning with the fan on in hopes that the Air Conditioning company would fix it and to our dismay, when we got back in, it smelled like a dead rat/fish rottened in the room....Again, for the 3rd time, we complained, it was 10:30PM and told that the hotel was full and when we persisted that we do not sleep in a room with that smell in it, they found us another room, the 3rd room in 1.5 days....I know Ugo, the front office clerk tried his best but not telling us the truth and accommodating us properly from the first time was disappointing. Apparently the owners of the hotel were there and never appeared once to explain it to us. OH, forgot to mention, that we also ran out of hot water in the 3rd room they gave us . Not recommendable to say the least....
