"This place is a gem. Everything is perfectly maintained and clean. The entire property is gorgeous, and the room was exceptional. Some the better wine in the area as well, so great bonus. The location is convenient, walkable from Pinhao, but secluded enough to not feel like you are in a town."

"The entire staff was congenial and very helpful. The room was spotless, elegant, and the bed very comfortable. The French doors opened onto a small patio with table and chairs, and a view overlooking the Douro River across to hills of vineyards. The smell of the jasmine in the courtyard permeated the air. We did not anticipate the welcome glass of port, and really enjoyed it while relaxing in the library bar. In the morning we enjoyed an English breakfast, and there were yogurts, fresh cheeses and fruit, and a huge variety of breads and pastries. One night was not enough! If you can visit this lovely part of Portugal, I highly recommend at least one night here."

"Room clean but would benefit from a bathroom update. Commented on noise because election rally went on till late across road from hotel both nights of our stay. Realise we were just unlucky to have this. Staff friendly and also knowledgeable about Port and where to buy it cheaply. Would love to come back overall. "
