Staff was very friendly and hotel was nice. We were pleased about the location - we landed in Frankfurt and wanted to see Burg Eltz castle. The hotel is right by the water and has some nice restaurants within walking distance (traditional German cuisine and Döner!). The room was clean and met our needs for the night. Breakfast buffet was very good. We were pleased with our stay.

Was a great place to stay for a few nights on our Europe road trip from UK. Alken was quiet with lots of history, and is around 45 minutes from the Nurburgring, so was perfect for us!

Lovely stay

Only stayed one night when visiting the area with a family member. We had a friendly greeting and our host spoke English. It’s a pet friendly hotel as we had a small dog with us. The mattress and quality of the bedding were superb as was the Prija soap in the loo. Breakfast available for €18 but there is a bakery nearby (closed Wednesdays) for a cheaper option. Quiet area in a quaint village. Wifi did not work in the rooms only lobby area.

On the Mosel River

This hotel is situated with a beautiful view, right across the street from the Mosel River. We enjoyed sitting by the river on a bench with our drinks and watching the boats. And from our window we could see the castle on the hill. But we were disappointed with the room. Our first night we were given a room that was not clean (dust wads and hair in the floor and spiderwebs in the corners) with a disfunctional shower (shower doors were broken and shower didn’t drain). Also there was a loud barking dog in the next room. The next day they moved us to a better room, and it was clean with a working shower. They do have a restaurant, but it was all buffet-style self serve, which we don’t like. So we ate at other restaurants in the area.

Ein toll gelegenes Hotel direkt an der Mosel . Wir hatten neu renovierte Zimmer , Kostenlose Getränke wurden zur Verfügung gestellt in der Minibar . Das Frühstück war sehr schmackhaft und vielfältig und sehr schön angerichtet . Ein sehr hundefreundliches Hotel mit einem tollen und liebevollen Hotelhund . Das Restaurant war sehr einladend und gemütlich. Wir haben schöne Stunden mit unsere Gruppe dort verbracht . Das Abendessen ist auch sehr zu empfehlen . Das Personal ist sehr bemüht und sehr freundlich . Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden gerne nochmals wiederkommen.

> Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel in Alken. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und waren geschmacklich hervorragend. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Personal – vor allem die beiden jungen Männer, die stets hilfsbereit und gut gelaunt waren. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt, sodass man sich sofort wohlfühlen konnte. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die wunderschöne Lage direkt an der Mosel, die für eine tolle Atmosphäre und einen erholsamen Aufenthalt sorgt. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
