Wet easter week in Almunecar

Wonderful place to meet up with family. Great place for adults and children.Lovely big swimming pool. Easy access to beach and long promenade. Wonderful Easter processions.

Winter stays

Despite bad weather we had a good stay. We stay here regularily out of season for the warm indoor pool and big jacuzzi. The food is not as good as it used to be but is acceptable. Breakfast is good. We always stay in a suite nowadays. Furnishings tired but if the rooms were improved im sure the prices would shoot up. A 'spanish family' style, friendly, welcoming hotel. Always same staff.

The hotel rooms were a bit dated, not much stuff in the room available for a 4* star hotel for example there was not kettle, iron, safe didn't work, towels were only given for 2 people although we booked a quadruple room for 2 adults and 2 kids, only 1 toilette roll were placed in the bathroom by the cleaners every day. First full board hotel I stayed where water wasn't included so you had to pay for water to have it with your meal, i would of expected if it was alcoholic drinks or even fizzy drinks but water??? Furthermore beach towels were only given once at the beginning of your stay over and given back on the last day which was also was a 1st for me so we had to keep on using the same dirty beach towel every day. This hotel is quite tight with their service considering their fees. Lastly the waiters used to get quite moody with us when we used to take a bit long with our meal cause we had 2 little kids with us that would take longer than adults to eat. The reception staff and the kids area staff were very helpful and friendly but apart from that I wouldn't stay in this hotel again.

Got a corner room with sea view balcony and was fantastic listening to the sea to sleep! Downside was the indoor swimming pool and sauna which was not very welcoming or pleasing to be in - roof was very low, could do with it all being glass to improve.

This hotel definitely a 4 star, offered a great value; we took the half board over the Christmas vacation for convienence. Also our three daughers are picky eaters so the buffet offered a variey of foods. The hotel is in a town that is only 1 hr by car to Granada, the Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada mountains, and Malaga( a town that should not be missed). We prefered staying here instead of Granada which you only need one long day to see. We only had 5 days but got in the car each day and due to the great highway system it was a piece of cake getting around. Almunecar has a paved walk way that hugs the sea. You must take it in both directions; one will take you into town from there you can walk up to OLD ALMUNECAR. A must do, there you wil fnd tight streets with typical housing. There is a cute craft section near a public park where local artisians sell their wares.

Excellent breakfast !

Brilliant service - the staff were the best part of the stay. This hotel is quite old and 'worn' so it's definitely not a 4 star hotel. I gathered that when I booked so it was not a surprise nor a disappointment. I would definitely stay here again out of the season. I an imagine it is popular in the summer with families and gets very busy. Brilliant breakfast buffet with masses of choice. Good enough gym for my needs. Good to know that the pool is not heated in the winter and the water was icy to say the least. The only 'complaint' I have is that you had to pay extra for parking and safety deposit box - neither facts which were not mentioned in the listing. However outside July & August you can park free of charge in the surrounding area.

Gran hotel con variedad de entretenimiento. Mis hijos disfrutaron mucho de los toboganes de la piscina y de la sala de juegos para niños. La habitación en la que estuvimos era muy espaciosa y las camas eran muy confortables. El desayuno es muy completo, y hay opciones para todos los gustos. Sin duda, repetiremos!

La limpieza muy mal, el baño huele fatal (olor de las tuberías al no tener sifón suben los olores) las placas del suelo rota con filos que son cuchillos no se puede andar descalzo. Eso si la comida es lo mejor mucha variedad y buena calidad además de la piscina y el resto del hotel. Yo diría que es un Hotel de 4 estrella de hace unos años y se le ha dejado el mantenimiento.

Bok suite med takterrasse!

To store room suite med 50km terrasse med jacuzzi og panoramautsikt. Hotellet virket nyoppusset men bærer preg av å ha vært bygget på 80tallet. Utendørsbasseng ok, men kalt vann. Innendørbasseng i "kjelleren" ,ikke koselig men varmt vann. Negativt er en gedigen matsal med en fryktelig akustikk. Frokosten ok. Stedet ok som badeby,med en borgruin.
