Fantastic food but......

Room 11 plumbing left a lot to be desired... Problematic toilet, shower just a dribble and at 6.30am what appeared to be a bath discharged onto the flat roof outside our window. The excellent food made up for this. A lovely evening meal from the bistro menu and a very good cooked breakfast. Staff all very friendly.

Thought the buildings and character were fab, facilities were actually good but it was all dragged down by a rather overwhelming smell in the cottage..... damp , slightly urine smell, musty needs a good deep clean. Such a shame because the quality of the cottage was otherwise good. Can’t really see how this scored a gold rating when the smell was soooo bad. The whole site is in desperate need of maintainence, everything falling to bits, rendering off walls , drive way so many holes that had to travel at incredibly low speed , nearly at stand still to try to avoid the holes, not good for our car. Staff were lovely, seemed pushed.

Food is excellent as always and great regular staff look after you. 7 course taster menu is amazing! However place is getting really in need of some spend on the building and its decor before people are put off returning.

If you like hot!

Beautiful accommodation and tucked away. We did not manage to sleep any night as the heating was overpowering which was a shame as it is a great place. Hopefully they will sort this so would be perfect

Lovely quiet place

Had a great weekend stay with some friends, stayed in one of the cottages. Really nice place and lovely surroundings. May well come back again.

Country hotel in a lovely setting

Small classic room, comfortable bed, small en suite. Food ok but limited menu unless you have the four or seven course tasting menu.
