About this property
Paulsenhof - WE 1, Hans-Jürgen Paulsen - Rural idyll in a thatched roof house with
In a thatched farmhouse with a half-timbered gable dating from 1934—which was completely modernised in 2025—we offer two comfortable holiday apartments for four and six people, respectively, on a 5,000-square-meter property. Both apartments were renovated using natural materials: cellulose and hemp insulation, clay plaster on the interior walls, and wooden floors. The rooms and outdoor areas are very spacious, ensuring that you’ll enjoy a true indoor holiday experience even in winter
Both apartments / semi-detached homes each have a separate entrance and span two floors. There are four parking spaces available on the property.
The Hans-Jürgen apartment has a living area of 105 square metres and can accommodate 4 people. There are two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The living-dining room is spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a terrace out front. There is a cosy sofa area and armchairs in front of the flat-screen TV, as well as a large dining table. The modern kitchen is separated from the living area by a wide sliding door. It is comfortably equipped with modern appliances and stands out for its simple elegance, featuring white cabinet fronts and plenty of wood. The spacious bathroom features a floor-to-ceiling glass shower, a sink, and a toilet. There is also a second bathroom with a shower and toilet. Wi-Fi is available.
Outside, there is a barrel sauna with a relaxation room for shared use. A lockable bike shed with a power outlet is available Children and pets are welcome. Please note that additional fees apply for pets. We charge an additional €10.00 per night for a pet, as well as a one-time pet cleaning fee of €25.00
The village of Schwarbeis located in the north of the island of Rügen on the Wittow Peninsula. It consists of just a few similar houses, surrounded by fields and horse paddocks. It’s just a ten-minute walk to the Baltic Sea! The village is home to the Kap Arkona Riding and Driving Club, which offers horses for riders of all ages. One of Rügen’s most beautiful cycling trails runs right past the house. You can always cycle along the cliffs to Kap Arkona or to the North Beach—one of the island’s most beautiful beaches—without ever having to cross a road. Bicycles can be rented at Uthess Bike Rental in Altenkirchen.
It’s just a ten-minute walk from the house to the Baltic Sea. You’ll walk directly across the grounds of the riding stable, past the jumping arena. A footpath leads you between the paddocks to the Schwarbe. The Schwarbe is a dense beech forest that was planted in the 1930s right along the coast to protect against erosion. Passing through this forest, you’ll reach the Müllerschlucht. Through the gorge, you’ll arrive directly at the pebble beach. Turn left and after a few hundred metres you’ll reach Nordstrand. If you’d rather avoid walking over the rocks, turn left at the Müllerschlucht and follow the cliffs until you reach a set of stairs that leads directly to the powder-fine Nordstrand. We also recommend this route to cyclists. It takes you through the coastal forest. Here, the constant sea breeze has caused the silver beeches to grow into the most bizarre shapes. Locals call this section of the forest the “Fairy Forest.” Here you can experience magnificent sunsets.
