Relaxing log home on a private mountainside in Rappahannock County, Virginia
Relax, reconnect, and recharge at Poes Mountain Lodge. Enjoy the nature views and privacy that 50 acres provides.
The cabin is constructed with Canadian western red cedar logs. Enjoy 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open kitchen and living area, a large deck, and a screened in back porch. There is a stone fireplace that contains stone from the original cabin that was constructed in the late 1700s.
Enjoy local wineries, Skyline Drive (about 30 minutes away), venture out to DC for a day trip, or stay put and enjoy the house amenities. The sky has very low light pollution which provides a great backdrop for stargazing at night. We like to sit on the back porch in the rocking chairs and observe all of the wildlife that call the mountain home.

5 stars all around!! This cabin was sooo clean and cozy. Every single detail had so much thoughtfulness. The owner was quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely book again and highly recommend!!
This place is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and well-appointed! It was exactly as advertised and we can’t say enough about Brian, the host! He was incredibly responsive and helpful. You could really tell he cared about our experience. He is truly a super host! We really enjoyed quiet evenings by the beautiful fireplace.
This is a beautiful, well-maintained cabin located in a quiet wooded setting that provides privacy and peace but is not too far from things to do and places to eat. It’s perfect for a girls weekend or a family getaway where you just want to spend time together playing games or talking and enjoying nature. The cabin is well equipped with anything you need to cook your own meals and the furniture is clean and comfortable. Brian is a gracious host and will make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay at Poe’s Mountain Lodge.
We were easily able to communicate with Brian, and he was prompt in answering any questions we had. We found the house clean and beds comfortable. We appreciated the phone chargers. The house was well-appointed including tea and coffee.
We came with a small group of friends and had a great stay! The cabin was beautiful and very clean. Brian communicated well in advance and was extremely hospitable. We would stay again!
I've stayed here a few times and it never disappoints. It's beautiful, clean, and always well stocked. We'll definitely be back sometime this year again!
We had a wonderful stay at Poes Mountain Lodge this weekend. This was our second time and we love being out in the woods with the fire pit and time with our family and dogs.
The property is always well-stocked and in great condition. The thoughtfulness of available items is very appreciated. Brian responds to any questions quickly. It's always an enjoyable experience!

It is a beautiful log cabin with plenty of space. The back deck is huge. It is secluded with yard and woodlands. Plenty of indoor and outdoor games provided. Brian is wonderful. Very nice, helpful and communicative. Felt like home. I will stay here again when I am in the area.
The home was amazingly well appointed with everything you need. Brian was, bar none, the most incredible host ever. He really cares about you having an excellent experience and addresses any issues accordingly. We loved our stay and would welcome the opportunity to stay again. Loved Shenendoah National Park. Eat at the Dark Horse inn

We had a blast. Brian was super accommodating and communicative leading up to our stay. The house was very clean and had plenty of games and toys for our girls to enjoy. We can’t wait to come back!
We had an excellent time at this cabin. It’s well equipped with everything from kitchenware, to children’s games/toys, extra bedding, and an air mattress. The firepit and outdoor toys were much appreciated as well. The beds were comfortable and the house was well maintained. Would rent again!!!
This cabin was perfect for my husband and me to get away with our dogs before he left for a deployment. It was secluded and wonderful to just enjoy family time. Brian was super responsive and accommodating with everything. The cabin was so welcoming! We will be back!
The home was beautiful. It had everything you need and more. They went above and beyond to make my family feel comfortable. Definitely plan to book again.
My wife and I stayed over a long weekend. As soon as you drive up you can see this is well built log cabin. Inside was beautiful and immaculate. From the well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, clean and fresh linens (not masked with horrible fabric softener perfume), this place will no doubt exceed your expectations. Communication with owner was excellent.
Beautiful, secluded property in perfect location to visit local restaurants, breweries and distillery by day and hang out with friends in the evenings. The owner has thought of everything to help make this beautiful house feel like home during your stay. This was my first vrbo experience and it has set the bar high for any future trips. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying at this property again. Thank you!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this relaxing log cabin! The cabin is gorgeous, beautifully constructed, with a fully stocked kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace (which we used!), comfy furniture, and very comfortable beds. The cabin is sitting on a private lot surrounded by trees. It's perfectly located and within an easy driving distance of Sperryville, Flint Hill restaurants, wineries, shops, distilleries, hiking trails, and Skyline Drive! We saw tons of deer and wild turkeys. Brian, the host, was friendly, charming, and very accommodating to our needs. It was peaceful and relaxing. We will come back!
What a wonderful home and host! From arrival to departure everything was just lovely. The house is beyond gorgeous. Serious curb appeal and just as pictured. Sparkling clean too. Close to fun stuff with bonus peeks at cute critters around the property. Even saw a bobcat one evening. Thanks Brian, for everything!
The property owners are excellent. Communication is fantastic. This was our second time renting the cabin, and we love it! We hope to stay here twice a year from now on. The house is very clean and well stocked with amenities. The yard and property are gorgeous. We love relaxing by the firepit. This home is a 10 out of 10!
