Had a long-overdue reunion with siblings and we enjoyed staying here so much that we’re ready to go back! Great place for staying-in and catching up, and close to town and all the fun things to do (like a whale-watching tour). Very nice place, clean and well-equipped. Skagit Bay is right outside your door, how can you beat that?

We love this place!
It’s set up perfectly for our family. Two bedrooms on opposite sides of the family room and kitchen. It’s so nice to have our own beach just a few steps out of the glass front doors. It’s perfect.👌🏼

Very relaxing place
Loved the property and the view! It was a little tricky to find at first as their is two very steep driveways and har to tell which one to take. Make sure you take a compact car. Parking is tricky and not meant for longer vehicles.
Loved the house. The driveway is a bit tricky and it was a little hard to fine. It was clean but my tub didn't drain well so that's a little gross. The setting was picturesque and the grounds are beautiful. The shower pressure and water temp were a little low. Overall, highly recommend.

Lovely water front property
We really enjoyed our stay. The property being waterfront and getting so see every sunrise and set from the porch was the best part. The beach was perfect for kids from the mid west to explore at low tide and kept our kids entertained all week. There are fruit trees and blackberries all over the property. For these reasons I recommend it. However, I am not sure the managing of the property is doing it’s best. We were alerted urgently the day before our trip that ‘our accommodations would not be available’. My heart sunk, because traveling with kids it not a turn on a dime affair. The offered other properties. Turns out the door lock was broken and we could lock the slider while we were there but not when we left. We decided to still use the property. This was not fixed the entire time we were there. Small things like cheap toilet paper and other products were just not the level I would have expected as a nice property but easy to look past. Also no pack n play, high chair, etc which I’m used to rental properties having. Again, we loved our stay, but we have had better experiences from management aspect.
We really enjoyed our stay right on the water. Deer presentAlmost daily. Daughter was obsessed with finding sea glass and enjoyed her treasure hunt. As mentioned by others parking can be a challenge if both houses are rented but we really had no issues. Would stay again if in the area
Spent 3 nights in this beautiful house on an amazing piece of property! Came to skagit county to visit the tulips and explore the San Juan’s. Absolutely incredible trip and the house location on the water made the trip even more memorable! Highly recommend!

Beach Retreat
Everything looks beautiful on the posting for this home. It looks pretty upon arrival, however the house was so dirty, so many appliances didn’t work and the managing agent or homeowners cheap out on hand soap, shampoo and conditioner.
It was quite a disappointment.

Beach house
We enjoyed our stay at the Driftwood retreat. It has amazing views. We walked the beach every day. The neighbors were very friendly and educated us on the area as well as things to do. The place had all of the amenities we needed. It is located in a central area with easy access to multiple activities. We would definitely stay here again!
This is a modern, small house with direct south view of the bay. The two bedrooms and baths are out of the way, huge kitchen and main area to relax and enjoy the view. The vibe is similar to the San Juan Islands, without the long ferry ride to those places. Yard space and beach access are fantastic.
Very nice place. My only comment is that if there is a person with mobility issues with you it can be challenging. The driveway is super steep and the rock stairs were a bit difficult for my cousin with mobility issues. The home is nice.
Overall my experience was great. The place and property are super cute. a few things could be improved on like fixing lock to front door and new beds or mattresses. Wifi was ok but at times not great. I would come back or also would recommend to friends and family.
We had a lovely stay and the accommodation was as seen in the listing.
However it feels like some minimal interventions would take the place to another level;
- the beds were not very comfy
- the door lock mentioned in earlier reviews still not resolved
- the outdoor furniture and bbq are tatty and in need of upgrade - especially when the stuff next door is clearly visible!
- a noisy heating system kicked in at 5am
All easily fixable and would help justify the price tag

Great view
This place has a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. It was one of the view rentals I found where you could actually walk the beach. It was a very quiet place. We saw river otters twice from the porch of the house. House is well equipped in the kitchen.
CONS - Parking is a challenge. If you have a larger car, I hope you are a good driver to park in the tiny spot at the bottom of the hill. House needs updated decor and bedding. You are supplied only one washing machine pod, and you are required to start a load of towels before you leave the house. The pod is a special soap for a septic tank, and you are not to use any other soap. This leaves no soap if you wish to wash your own clothes. There is a coffee pot but you will have to buy your own filters and coffee. We left filters and coffee that we purchased. Wi fi worked well. I would rent this location again, but there can be improvements. It is worth the view alone.

Serene getaway
The cabin is adorable, yet modern. The view is peaceful and beautiful with the water just steps away. There is even a sauna! This was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends.
There were two things negative worth noting- the 5th sleeping area is just the couch. There are morning glories that have totally killed what I think used to be a pear tree and almost completely blocks the view from the living room. The morning glories have started infecting the other pear trees and if left unaddressed will kill the whole garden.

Gorgeous home with stunning views and quiet environment.
Washer is not working probably and could be dangerous as it starts to move very badly on spin cycles(on a very normal and balanced load). Dryer almost fell off from but luckily I was close to washer dryer and was able to switch washer off.

Peaceful waterfront home
The well designed guest house, next to a much larger main house, has great views of Skagit Bay and low bank beach access. The two bedrooms, each with their own full bathrooms, are separated by a well equipped kitchen and an adjacent sitting area that could use some better furniture. The mattresses in both bedrooms are far too soft for comfort and should be replaced. The adjacent patio is located next to extensive, well landscaped and maintained grounds with many fruit trees. However the patio was equipped with only three usable chairs and no tables. The lack of suitable lawn furniture was surprising and would have been a major disappointment if we had not brought our own folding table and chairs. There is a fire pit that we enjoyed using, but it has an unstable base and should be replaced. There was a gas barbecue, which we did not use.
While we enjoyed our stay in the guest house, we probably would choose to stay in the main house for any additional stays with four or more people. It is much larger and better equipped with both indoor and outdoor furniture.
1. Directions provided from roadway to parking spot and from parking spot to cabin are inaccurate and confusing. A basic map of the property would be helpful.
2. The lock on the sliding door does not work via key from the outside. However the door can be locked from the inside by turning the locking latch. We assume that is the reason a bicycle lock is provided to secure the cabin.
3. The control panel for the alarm system displays the message "Not Ready To Arm-Fault". When "Disarm" is selected the display defaults to the previous message. We can't get it to work properly.
4. We noted a gouge in the kitchen island counter top. It was there when we arrived.
5. We have been unable to locate a light switch to turn off the light in the loft over the eastern end of the cabin.
6. The BBQ grill is functional but the flame is irregular, indicating that the burners need to be replaced.
7. Upon returning to the cabin from a trip into the nearby town of Anacortes on Saturday, we discovered another vehicle in our designated parking spot, leaving us insufficient room to park our own vehicle.
8. The WIFI is not working properly. We have been able to receive emails on our iPhones but have been unable to send emails.
9. When we attempted to activate email from our laptop, the computer seized up completely and we have been unable to reboot it. UPDATE: Since returning home today, the laptop is again functioning properly, which suggests that the problem was caused by the cabin's faulty WIFI.
10. There is a wheel missing from the lower rack of the dishwasher.
11. The fan in the east bathroom does not work.
12. On Saturday night, the bed in the east bedroom collapsed, so we moved into the west bedroom.
13. We were unable to set the alarm when we checked out Sunday morning. See point 3 above.
14. Access to the designated parking spot is via a very steep, narrow driveway, with a very tight turning radius into the parking area and the parking spot itself is not level.
The cabin is in a beautiful, scenic location but due to the problems we encountered we believe that we are entitled to a partial refund.
