Was no breakfast, people were very nice, it had a very bad smell and mold smell could here the baby crying and people in the room next door. I believe the guy at the desk was new, but he was friendly, helpful

First off, I just want to say the staff running the place was very helpful and courteous but in the first room we were given, 2 of the lamps werent working which we found out were outlet issues. We were offered a second room which I thought would be better. Not so, the door did not lock, the hair dryer didn't work, the toilet cover was broken, there was a squishy part in the floor of the bathroom and both rooms didn't smell very good. We asked to have the manager call us about these issues the next day but that never happened. I will never stay at a Super 8 again.

Room/building review.

The building needs complete upgrade, bathroom showers while clean need to be re-caulked. Hallways smelled horribly, carpets need to be replaced as they are old and worn. I don’t remember seeing charging posts for cell phones and since hotel is pretty friendly, dog bags for cleanup would have been appreciated.

The check in process was great and the staff pretty friendly throughout the stay. Usually external doors require a room key to enter but none of these did and the part of the door that would do that appeared to be broken on all doors leading to the outside except the main entrance.

Extra guests....

Check in was easy, it definitely needs some TLC, breakfast was soso, after we saw a cockroach in the bathroom of our room, we choose to not eat any food there. I would have requested a new room but it was 1am when we saw it and had a 1yr back to sleep and a 2yr sleeping. I told the owner about it and he only seemed shock it was on the 2nd floor.

It's a Super 8. I didn't expect the Taj Mahal. But my bathroom was 'hairy'. I don't think it was cleaned since the last guest or two. But the bed was very comfortable, and the rest of the facility was clean. The hotel is older and in definite need of a cosmetic makeover but everything was functional. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and it was quiet at night.

I stayed here because it was convenient and less expensive than the only other hotel option in the immediate area. The bed was comfortable and clean. The condition of the room was disappointing. There were lightbulbs not working above the sink, only one of the four lamps in the room was functional, the outlets were very overused and loose, so much so that the plug to charge my phone fell out of the outlet or did not connect to power. There were wear marks on the headboard of the bed and on the walls in various places. When I went for breakfast, I found a dark room. Not very welcoming. This hotel has been in the area for a number of years and it is showing its age. As I stated, it was less expensive then the only other option in Anamosa, but it was overvalued for the quality of the accommodation.
