"Large clean room, comfortable bed, with a refrigerator, microwave and small coffee machine in the room. Adequate darkening curtains were installed. AC was functioning but we had to repeatedly restart when it unexpectedly stopped operating. No elevator in the hotel, but our room was fortunately on the first floor and close to the secured rear entrance parking lot.
- Subfloors should have been repaired before installing the new flooring during renovations because they sagged around the toilet, outside the bathroom door and at several areas around the room. Dim bathroom lighting, dirty bathroom switches, receptacles, and a dinky hairdryer. No grab bars in the shower/tub and no place to hang bath towels, only two small bars for hand towels. Bath mat was small but useful for the slippery tub. Only toiletries were the large refillable containers on the shower wall that I universally dislike. Just one very small bar of soap to keep at the sink to wash your hands. No lotion or vanity packs. I needed an emery board that I forgot to pack. Beverage vending machines were empty. Snack machines were stocked.
+ Good coffee in the lobby. Nice gas fireplace to sit in front of to drink coffee. It has an onsite restaurant and bar but we didn’t visit it. We like the location on Lake Hood where the floatplanes are docked and you can watch take off and land. Shuttle service and freezer storage available. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again when in Anchorage."
