"This was the cutest little motel. Bananas were too ripe and the rooms need some updating and maintenance. Otherwise I'd stay there again. It was the hub of everywhere I wanted to go at a reasonable price."

"This Scaly Mountain cottage is immaculate and beautiful! It is secluded and peaceful, but close enough to Dillard and Clayton to be convenient. Very nicely and apparently recently updated, and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen - it even has a small air fryer! Shower has fantastic water pressure, and it's always so handy to have a washer and dryer. It also seems to me this host uses unscented/hypoallergenic cleaning products, which is important to those of us with "sensitive" noses. Everything is organized and very well thought out. Lots of games and interesting books for all ages. The host's advice on having 4WD for the steep gravel driveway is spot on - we had no problems with our AWD 4Runner. We had a great stay and wish we could have stayed longer! We plan to return in future."

"We were enchanted by this charming little cottage with the big porch overlooking the mountains.. The birds who visited every day to feed were a special treat. Our little dog was made welcome by our kind hostess, as were we. Carman filled us in on best places to dine and nearby waterfalls. The cottage is small but perfectly appointed and comfortable for the two of us. We especially appreciated the great coffee! Can’t wait to visit again!"

"We chose this place because it had everything we needed/wanted: seclusion, peace and quiet, pet friendly, hot-tub and the look and feel of a cabin in the woods. It was all that and more!!! What a beautiful house and a majestic location. Host was great at communicating and flexible to our needs. My mother lives right down the road so I will be a repeat customer!!!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, and anything we needed was 10 mins. away. The cabin was even better than I thought it would be. It's very private and cabin has enough space for the whole family. Listening to the river/falls on the back porch was amazing! It was exactly what I needed for a quiet and calm vacation away. We will definitely go again. "

"The property is lovely. The house is set up well for a girls' trip. Five of us met for a long weekend. We had planned to explore more of the area but ended up playing cards, sitting in the hot tub, and enjoying the beautiful house and yard. I would not hesitate to choose this property."
