I booked 4 nights at the Tamarind reading a lot of reviews of the Hotel. Not 1 of them was bad! The place is lovely. It's essentially an old property which has been renovated by a new management & they have done a very good job. Stone structures, white washed walls & sloping roofs. It started raining the very day we reached so everything looked all the more green and better. When it rains you want to eat and drink. So here I have to mention the restaurant. The Chef Hemraj probably does not know what a great cook he is. Very non assuming guy who makes amazing food. The boys at the restaurant, Padam, Subhas&Tilak. Very simple and very warm. Subhas and Ashok at the reception, the housekeeping lady, Triza I think her name was. All nice people.
I think the management ( Rahul/Gaurav) has to be given credit for it.
We took some cycles &went to the beach and the next day were wise enough to take the bike ;-).
The pool is great. I think its temperature controlled, though I'm not very sure.
They also celebrated our wedding anniversary one evening & the cake they made for us, after eating that i could've died and gone to heaven.
Couple of suggestions.
1- It's mostly a couple place. Of course u can take your family, uncle, aunts & your grandmother, nobody is stopping u but yeah its mostly a great place for your & your partner. if you get my drift.
2-It's a very secluded and private place, please don't create a ruckus.Keep it down.
3- Tip all the staff when you leave. They all deserve it.
