"Fairly basic room and bathroom but fine for overnight stay. Very warm and pleasant welcome on arrival. Half board rate available."

"The room was spacious, quiet and warm. The dinner was really special. Limited menu but everything was superb as was the service and especially the dinning area. The breakfast was also very good."

"A beautiful chateau, full of charm and character. The room we stayed in was stunning, beautifully quiet with a massive bed. Facilities excellent in terms of pools and spa. Staff were all very welcoming and spoke many languages. The highlight is the restaurant which has a choice of set menus which were quite simply amazing and the wine list very extensive. If you want a pamper weekend away in a glorious setting, this is the place. We will be going back, no doubt about it. Highly, highly...

"Very friendly people. A very cosy and spotless 2 star hotel in a small village in the French country site. Restaurant with a good kitchen."

"Very clean and beautiful hotel and nice and quiet. Rooms were a little on the cool side which was nice for sleeping. We ate an outstanding meal at the restaurant, we had beef cheeks and guineafowl. The staff was very attentive and serviceminded. Plenty of parking. Definitely worth a visit."

"Wir hatten ein winziges Zimmer, ohne Möglichkeit neben dem Bett auch nur den Koffer aufzuklappen"

"Perfect for a quick overnight stay. Bfast is advised to head for a local Boulangerie or LIDL just a few metres away. Place was very clean. It suits low budget accommodation."

"Enjoyed our stay"

"Good location, 5 mins walk from the train station and center of the city. Very nice staff. Big room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Bakery attached to the building. Everything is convenient, very good stay, recommend."

"Canalside views were perfect with outdoor seating. Would happily stay again."

"Good location in the centre of a lovely little town on way from UK to French Alps. Parking and breakfast both perfect."

"When I arrived at this property the owner finally answered the door, she said she had no knowledge of my booking. Finally I had to email her a copy of my confirmation. This wasn't made any easier by her statement that "she spoke no English" - the website clearly states multilingual staff. (In fact it later became clear she did speak English). The 'living-room' is actually set out as a shop and did not feel welcoming - I was not invited to use it anyway. The only restaurant in Salives was unable...
