Jane’s Creek Cottage is an ideal choice for guests seeking a peaceful retreat while exploring the Redwoods or visiting Cal Poly Humboldt. Families visiting students will feel especially at home in this quiet, comfortable setting. Begin your mornings with coffee on the covered porch, then head out to the nearby redwoods, campus, or downtown—each just a short walk or drive away.

After a day of adventure, return to a charming cottage that blends the feel of a restored farmhouse with tasteful modern and vintage décor. Wide-plank faux wood floors enhance the cozy, country ambiance throughout the space. Stock up on local favorites at the Arcata Farmers’ Market or nearby gourmet and organic grocers, including Wildberries and the Co-Op, and prepare meals in the fully stocked kitchen featuring a gas stove. Prefer to dine outdoors? Fire up the propane BBQ and enjoy an al fresco meal on the patio. While there is no dishwasher, ample dishware and glassware are provided for your convenience.

The cottage offers comfortable new queen beds with high-quality bedding for a restful night’s sleep. After hiking the nearby Arcata Community Forest, refresh in the spacious walk-in shower, then unwind on the sectional sofa and enjoy a movie on the Smart TV with over 200 channels. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included, and a washer and dryer are available for guest use in the detached laundry room next door.

Situated on a quiet private property shared with two other residences, the cottage is surrounded by nature, with deer frequently passing through. The owner works on site and offers guests complete privacy while remaining friendly and happy to share local insights. *To help us be good neighbors, please observe quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., park only in designated spaces, and respect the privacy of other residents. **Parking is limited to two vehicles, with space for one additional visitor car available by prior approval.

** Guest reserving home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking.

** Upon completion of booking reservation guests will be required to sign a rental agreement agreeing to Trinidad Retreats rules and regulations.

** Sorry but this is not a pet friendly home, no exceptions.

Cute, clean, charming cottage with plenty of space, including a large kitchen. Well-stocked with what we needed (although no ice maker or cube trays). Good location, close to everything with easy access to US 101. A great home base for our time in the area!

Great location and amenities

Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area. Close to downtown, the coast and the redwoods. Large kitchen for eating in but also close to many great restaurants if you want to eat out. Beds are comfortable as well!

Great location! The place was very clean and the whole process was easy. Very accurate description. It's nice and quiet. If we ever get back to the area we would love to stay there again. The communication was also timely. The owners seem to really care about the property.

Loved the property! Only complaint was stains on pillow cases which made us question whether they had been washed and no hot water for second shower. I had to take a cold shower this morning. Ugh! Also would be nice if lotion was available since we flew to Arcata and didn’t bring. Other than that, an amazing experience!! Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: The cottage was a bit hard to find as it is tucked away from the street by numerous trees and large hedges, but once you find it, the trees and hedges work well to give you privacy from the street. The house doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is nice, spacious and clean. I called the management company on two occasions and they were helpful both times. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. There was a coffee pot and coffee, but no sugar/cream so we ended up going out for coffee each morning anyway.

Cozy, clean, and comfortable!

I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law for my son’s graduation. We were all very impressed! It was well organized and taken care of. The beds were super comfortable. We met the owner and he was very friendly! I would love to stay here again!

So Quaint!

My daughter and I were in town for a few days looking into Humboldt for the Fall semester. The location is about a 13 minute, nice walk to the university. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. Decorated nicely and very clean. Hope was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this property.

Home Sweet Home Near the Ocean
