New in August 2024 - we have constructed a new spectacular private infinity pool and wrap around deck facing the lake. Added views and enjoyment with great privacy for you and your family.

New in 2023 - Portable AC Unit, Higher-speed and reliable internet, all new bedding, (pillows, sheets, towels). New screens and new cleaning service with eco-friendly pest control.

Looking for the perfect Costa Rican escape? Come be our guest in this beautiful and tranquil home on 1 acre with breathtaking views of the famous Lake Arenal. The home is built with natural hard woods and stone from Costa Rica and was completed in October 2016. You will not see a more stunning sunset in the world than that offered from our patio. Wildlife abounds with regular visits from toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, hawks, and many other bird species. The home is a bird watching paradise. We also get visits from sloths and monkeys - incredible wildlife.

The home boasts incredible views with a modern kitchen, two bedrooms, one bath, and two amazing outdoor living spaces overlooking the lake with a relaxing hammock. A pull out couch provides a 3rd queen size bed. A wall of windows and double sliding glass door allow for complete panoramic views inside and out. Equipped free wifi, washer and dryer and the most amazing shower.

Within the small community of La Union and less than 100 meters are 3 wonderful restaurants (One Belgian, One Canadian and one Local Cuisine). Just tell the owners Peggy (La Mansion Inn Arenal) and Joanne (Toucan Lane) that you are staying at our house and receive access to each pool and hotub for a small daily fee.

The house is 20 km from the spectacular Arenal Volcano and 10 more km to La Fortuna, the center for Costa Rica mountain adventures including zip lining, white water rafting, fishing and boating, horse back riding, ATV tours, and the best hot springs in the world. The acclaimed Tabbacon hot springs resort is 15 km from the house and can be accessed for a daily fee. All of these adventures can be booked through our friends at La Mansion Inn or in La Fortuna. While staying at the house, reserve a night for dinner at the Ginger Bread House, the best restaurant in all of Costa Rica a mere 6 km from the house. Tell Eyal we sent you.

The house is a 1.5 hour drive on all paved roads from the Liberia Airport, and 1.5 hours to the nearest Pacific beach town of Play del Coco. Transportation is available from either local tourism centers, or we can arrange for our caretaker to pick you up for a fee. The primary tourism bus runs from Liberia to La Fortuna and makes twice daily stops at La Union, 100 meters from the house.

Everything you need is here for an amazing adventure in the Costa Rica jungle, including bird watching, jungle living, and the occasional monkey, sloth and toucans hanging out in the trees above and below the property. This house is the true meaning of Pura Vida!

Wonderful spot

Very authentic and off the beaten path. Great access to the lakes. Lovely little community with great restaurants and easy access to arenal and hiking. Loved our stay!

A good spot to call home for an extended stay. Very comfortable. Good internet. Enjoyed the pool on sunny afternoons. Places to eat nearby. A bit far into La Fortuna on a very curved road but not horrible. I'd stay again.

The view from the front porch with the infinity pool is perfection! It has several eating spots within walking distance and is close to adventures in La Fortuna.

Perfect getaway

This place was an amazing stop on our trip to Costa Rica! Beautiful and peaceful, clean and comfortable beds. Owners provided quick communication with any questions. Enough restaurants within walking distance. We drove to La Fortuna area every day for activities (rafting, zipline, and canyoning) which was about 45 min, but manageable.Would highly recommend!

Beautiful property and view

Great place with amazing view. Excellent restaurant next door called Drunky Monkey. Fresh and wonderful food. Didn’t spend much time at home as we were out sight seeing.

Million Dollar View with Privacy!

This house and this place is nothing short of magic! The view was stunning and it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. The pool was perfect and we loved being able to wash and dry clothes while we were there. The hosts were very communicative and understanding, even though we forgot a crucial part of check out. I would stay here 100 times over, perfection!

Honeymooners Dream

My husband and I stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon and we couldn’t have loved it more! The view from the back porch was breathtaking and with the many windows of the house you couldn’t help but be amazed from every viewpoint.

Beautiful Views

My husband and I spent our anniversary trip in this home. It was very quiet and we enjoyed visiting with people in the local area. The house was well stocked and clean; the pool was icing on the cake.

Bird watching heaven

We had a quick two night stay with my elderly parents to enjoy the views & wildlife. This house situated above the trees with a view of Arenal lake was perfect as the birds flew by at eye level constantly. We never even turned on the TV, house was cool enough without AC due to breeze. Water pressure in the shower could be better but other than that, we had everything we needed.

Rainy but Relaxing!

Absolutlely Beautful view and very relaxing. The little tiny ants were a big nuisance though as they bite and itch, swe hope that gets resolved as we'd like to revisit.

Private, Peaceful and Beautiful!

This was our first visit to Costa Rica, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The home offered a peaceful and private backyard that made us feel like we were the only ones in the world—overlooking a lush ravine, beautiful lake views, and unforgettable sunsets.We loved how everything was within walking distance—great local restaurants, sodas, and a little convenient store. The infinity pool was the perfect spot to unwind while listening to the soothing sounds of nature and birds chirping. We were lucky enough to see different species of birds and several toucans right from the backyard!It is truly a slice of paradise. We’re already looking forward to coming back and would absolutely stay in this exact home again. It was perfect!

Great spot!

While a bit of the beaten path, this place has the added bonus of lake views (no volcano views) and the sounds of nature all around. The drive in and out of La Fortuna was easy and we encountered even more wildlife along the way each day.

Paradise for birdwatchers

Very nice home with outstanding balcony and view. Very private. Good WiFi. Afternoon sun gets the living area very hot. Did not use portable ac but would have if cold packs had been provided. Maybe consider a shade for that large window. Pillows smelled musty. Small ants in the kitchen were a problem. Overall great stay and I would recommend to friends

Jungle retreat

Beautiful small property. We enjoyed the birds and jungle from the deck everyday and watching storms roll through the trees. A little tight for 6 but we made it work. Great base for exploring Tenorio, Arenal, and even did a trip to the Pacquare River.

Great house

WE Enjoyed our stay , specially the view and tranquility. Loved the the architecture and style of the house. The best thing is, that one can walk in 5 minutes to tbe lake ,where is a lake access and I could swim every day in tbe clean beautiful water . Better than any pool. Also 5 min walk from tbe house is a little restaurant called Oropendula , which is an up close and personal bird watching paradise ! We saw the most birds here ever ! Don’t miss it!

Beauty in the jungle!

We LOVED this house! It was PERFECT for us and our stay! The views were truly unbelievable! The sounds of the jungle at night while watching our own personal light show of the fireflies was like a dream! The host was great to deal with and so accommodating! I will definitely go back! The location was so convenient to get to town as well as a short jont to La Fortuna! We absolutely loved it and were so comfortable! Thank you so much! Lesley and Scott

Amazing rainforest retreat

Our family loved staying at Casa Adventura! It is far enough away from La Fortuna to feel like a private retreat yet still close enough to go on adventures like rappelling and white water rafting. The POOL is gorgeous and we loved having it. (It was unexpected since we booked our place before it was built). Every morning we’d wake up to so many birds (including toucans), sounds of howler monkeys and beautiful views of the lake and forest. At night we saw fireflies and watched the storms roll through while playing in the pool. William and Fulvio were very helpful and made our stay easy. We loved this place and were sad to leave. Hopefully we’ll be back again!

In the nature, awesome view

Modern, nice property in the nature. Good beds, nice and enough towels. Absolutely awesome view, especially synset!. Great sound of jungle. As in the description told: No AC but not necessary, it's cool during night time. Everything like in the description except the pool. Any private pool available. The predescribed pool isn't at the property but in the neighbours hotelnot far away.

Recharging in Paradise

This house is remote yet close to everything you need. Enjoy your coffee every morning on the patio overlooking the lake, listening to and watching the birds. At night you see a thouusand fireflies lighting the darkness. Although the house does not have a pool, 2 neighbours will let you use theirs. You are away from the masses of people yet within a short driving distance of lots of activities. There are 2 restaurants, i soda and a small convenience within walking distance.

Great place, amazing view!

This place was the perfect past leg of our stay! A little more secluded and peaceful than Fortuna. I higly recommend. With just a couple notes. The portable AC unit isn’t really suffient to cool the house during the day. That being said, if you’re venturing out for day adventures this is perfect! Also, with the area being more secluded, food options are limited especially after dark. The pizza place up the road is great though! So is Gingerbread.
